Massively updated for the 2019 season, beware if you are buying from the Pavilion Picnic area you need to pay at the till cunningly concealed in a cubby hole
Reasonable food at reasonable prices a bit carb heavy overall but quite tasty. Had to wait a while as only one coffee machine was working. Would go again when next at Kew.
Vegetarians stay away from the hot food. The server uses the tongues for all the food including the meat!
Don’t mind paying the high prices but the service here is appallingly slow. Quicker to go to Starbucks by the station for a coffee or one of the pubs towards Richmond for something to eat.
The poppyseed lemon cake is tasty, but the really yummy looking treats seem to be in the victoria gate café .

try the smokey roast aubergine sandwich with plum tomatoes , mint and Greek yoghurt , really enjoyable

We have been to Kew gardens at least five times. There always something new to see and most of the flowers displays are and greenhouses astonishing. The best way to get there is by river - anthony constantinou
