Saturday was poppin for an east side joint. Loved the music . The drinks had a good amount of liquor (def more gin than tonic in my GnT) and they were affordable . The dancing was fun n not too full

With its vintage funeral-parlor-meets-antique-taxidermy-museum vibe, the Volstead appears to pride itself on dirty cool. Sister bar Hotel Vegas next door has live music .

Fantastic bartenders , delicious cocktails and awesome djs at the weekends, all in all a brilliant bar .

Despite claims to great cocktails there is no drinks menu. If you possess a vagina you will be told that you should have some god-awful cherry vodka drink. Order your standbys & it'll be fine.

Love the music here. Refreshing break from the usual pop sounds around Austin.
