Red Beach is a beach Santorini located in Greece.
Κόκκινη Παραλία 847 00 Santorini , Cyclades Greece
Naturally created from volcanic eruptions a long time ago! The water is ice cold and the sand is mostly black & red pebbles. You need to park your vehicle and then follow a trail leading to the beach .
Narrow sand area (between water/cliff) so get there early to get a spot. The boats that come into the bay cause freak tidal waves.. So listen to Yaya when she is telling you to move back!
Don't be afraid! People exaggerates the difficulty of arriving. If you remember to bring your sneakers to walk the unfriendly road just x 10 minutes, nothingto worry Read my full guide of Santorini!
Wonderful beach with unique and exquisite views - definitely worth the hike over the rocky terrain. Tip, wear trainers and bring plenty of sun lotion as it’s a great sun trap.
Worth to visit while in the area. Beautiful colours, great water. Could be busy turning the day time.you can take a boat from the to the white and black beach !
You can get a boat to the white beach from here be warned that when you arrive at white beach you will need to enter deep water, so protect your electronic devices really well .
The view is great and the cliffs spectacular, but the hike there is dangerous, difficult, and officially illegal. In the end, it's almost better seen from afar than from the stony beach itself.
It's pretty to look at, difficult to get to, though and when it's windy you get all muddy and full of seaweeds and generally... Just go for the photos. Then leave and go back to the black beach ????
Nice but it's quite crowded & the water gets deep close to the shore. Better wear swim shoes when going here, as the pebbles might hurt. The red rock formation were pretty, but that's just it.
Nestled amidst imposing reddish rocks and paved with fine red sand, this amazing beach close to the settlement of Akrotiri is the perfect destination for a romantic day on the beach . Read more
Take bus to Akrotiri and hike to the beach (some rock climbing ) but its not bad. Then get to the black and white beach by ferry for 5 euros. Skip the beach sailing "tours " and go on your own time.
Probably the best beach in Santorini. Worth coming here for a few hours. Don’t be misled by taxi drivers who tell you that you can’t swim here.
Great beach for pics, but not so good to swim . Rocks as you enter the sea, plenty of seaweeds all over the place, no shower !
Welcome to the Red Beach ! What makes this beach absolutely irresistible is its impressive red rock formations , which form a breathtaking unique volcanic landscape. Choose to trek to this all-red beach
To all those who say it's difficult to come here , see attached photo. 3 and a half minutes walk with flip flops and photo stop. Beach is average at best but unique due to the red-ish coloured sand
Nature and water is absolutely great! No need to scare to much from the path. There are not enough parasols but understandable for such a natural beach .
The contrast of red and blue at its best. This beach 's volcanic red rocks engulf deep blue waters offering a peaceful setting for swimming and sunbathing in privacy. Read more
The view was amazing. The beach was not open for swimming , because rocks could fall, but the place looked great
The best beach of Santorini with clean and bright water monadiki paralia.i nekri fysh se magnnitizei kanontas se na thn exereuniseis.parte poly nero mazi sas
Hard to reach, nice to see. Must have experience for santorini but not for swimming and sunbathing
The amazing red volcanic soil meets the Aegean blue of the sea forming one of the most iconic beaches in the Mediterranean! Read more
Forget about the car park on the east side which is 800m away. There is a another one on the west side. It is right at the beach .
Beautiful beach with huge red rocks in the background. Unfortunately extremely crowded with tourists .
Nice for a short hike and picture taking, but too much seaweed for my swimming taste.
Beautiful but a bit of a hike and crowded . Be sure to wear good shoes to get down the cliff.
Small hike over the hill to get to this gorgeously brick red beach .
It's a great beach but not so relaxing, there are a lot of seaweed and it's very noisy ! Take the boat for the White Beach !
View on the beach is nice, but beach is small, with pebble stones and water is not clear. Not a great spot compared to other beaches .
Ordinarily overcrowded, prices for sunbeds are crazy we we charged 15 for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella. Not sure that the price is the same for all :) no facilities - shower and toilet .
The beach is red, the sky is blue, the waters are clear and your love for Santorini's most photographed beach is undeniable. Read more
One of the most unique beaches I've ever been too. Crystal clear water.
When it's not crowded — it's amazing
The view is great but i can not tell the same for the sea water . İt is not clean . Black beach is the best according to others.
Beautiful beach , well known for the unique colour of the sand and the hill behind it. http://www.travel-to-santorini.com/place.php?place_id=30
Easy parking and nice water, bring aqua socks for the rocks!
It looks great but the sand isn't so great when you're down there and there isn't much room
Very nice , must visit
If you walk far enough along the black beach you'll find beautiful rock formations and secluded areas - ideal for full tanning .
Not so comfortable . Interesting to see, but you can also skip it. Good to combine it with visiting Akrotiri excavations.
The worst beach I ever been. Don't come to Santorini if you want to enjoy the beach . Beautiful views but then just rocks, rocks and more rocks.
Not so good as was expected. A bit dirty and crowdy, other beaches of Santorini are much better. But it's interesting to see this red rocks)
Parasols and sun beds are scarcely found here, and you can get some basic supplies
A bit tricky to get there but really astonishing view !
Cool Beach , a bit dirty though
Bring a spare pair of sandals for the beach but wear walking shoes . The walk is fairly rocky.
A bit of a treacherous hike to get to, but quite lovely once you do.
So overrated. Red beach is small but crowded , the hike to over there is a bit rough, the water is dirty . Go somewhere else if you want to enjoy a day at the beach
In the south of the island . 20min away from Fira by car. One of the most interesting touristic and myst-see attractions , with red rocks, no sand, very clear sea water . It is safe to swim .
The beach is beautiful, but the people in charge of the sun beds charge us more then local people. We paid 10 Euro and they paided 5 euro. The toilets were terrible!
Isolated, yet organized and bustling with beach goers, this rocky red-colored paradise is a must see. Getting there isn't for the feint of heart though. The best option is to arrive there by boat. Read more
Accessible only by boat, with shallow water that's very warm in the summer. You can catch a boat from the Red Beach - don't forget to bring your own supplies. - incrediblue
Very nice and relaxing beach with lovely family-run tavern. Perfect for a perfect day on Santorin!! - Stefan M.
Simply love it. Very interesting black sand. Free wifi from the taverna by the beach. Free sun beds as well. - Светлин Стаев
Definitely worth the €5 entry price. Try and book a guide though as there is alot that needs explanation. A must see place on the island. - Simon Tann
