Great portion sizes, for a great price. Best of all, incredibly good ice cream . I can't have lactose and their lactose free options were literally the best ice cream I've ever had.
This place is amazing! I had and loved Bone Marrow and Bourbon Soaked Bourbon Soaked Berries , Arbequina Olive Oil , Sea Salt Ice Cream with Carmel Ribbon, and Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache !
1. Strawberry honey balsamic vinegar pepper ice cream is a MUST. If you don't have time to wait in line by-pass by buying a pint. 2. They are patient with tastings so try as many flavors as you like.
The best ice cream ever!!!loved the lavender and lemon with a half scoop of olive oil on the side perfect compliments! Love it!!!! Can't wait to take my kids!
I love my ice cream ! This place is absolutely amazing! Just stopped in on a road trip. Wish I could take it back to Florida! Get a waffle cone !
The hype is real + the scoops are generous! Especially friendly & patient staff tending to everyone's taste requests and curiosities. Strawberry/balsamic + pear/goat cheese + almond = can't go wrong!
Tried strawberry balsamic w/ black pepper and Coava coffee flavors , both were really good and it is worth the wait in line outside in December!
The line moves fast and is well worth wait. Lavender and Balsalmic are our go-tos, but we always get seasonals. Flights are fun. In hurry, dash in for pints and avoid line
I've never had bad ice cream here... and I've had A LOT of ice cream here. From the inspired strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper , to the simply weird seasonal specials , you'll never go wrong.
Once you have your sweet, prize, tell everyone that scoops of fish sauce caramel & dill pickle sorbet are better than advertised. The shop even collaborates with local breweries for booze scoops. Read more
The samples are big enough to count as a full serving. Double is enormous and can only half recommend because it was so good. I didn’t want to like this place but it ended up 10/10.
Very good ice cream . You can skip the line if you buy a pint. Go to the freezer in the back. Only bother waiting in line if you want a fresh waffle cone or didn't get enough queueing after Voodoo.
Salt & Straw wins over vanilla palates with varieties like dandelion sorbet with spring flowers and Arbequina olive oil . Got a more timid tongue ? Cinnamon snickerdoodle should please.
You've probably heard it all, but my favorite is the Olive Oil Ice Cream . So creamy and it has an amazing olive oil aftertaste. 🍦
Midwesterners in love with Jeni's Splendid - GET IN HERE! Our favorite creamery has met its match. Sample the day away before conceding to a split of your two faves. Anything salted caramel 💣👌😍
Do yourself a favor and skip the lines by getting ice cream for breakfast. A flight is a great way to start your day!
When it comes to adventurous sounding ice creams , don't be scared. Go for the flavors you know and love and generally you'll like the ice cream too. They certainly know what they are doing at Salt & S
Amazing ice creams and freshly cooked cones . Try the chocolate with brownies and the local strawberries and yogurt
Honey lavender . Pear with blue cheese . Strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper . Say hello to the "Voodoo Doughnuts of ice cream " in Portland. Absolutely divine!
Awesome ice cream shop . It doesn't matter when you go because there's a line at all times of day, but it's oh so worth it. Definitely try the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper !
Best ice cream I have ever had in my life and it beats my homemade ice cream by miles. Try the fresh cheese and strawberry with the olive oil one, so delicious!
Some of these ice creams choices are bonkers. They also are fucking delicious. The "pie " varieties are a revelation that in a more perfect America would have been a childhood staple.
Probably the best ice cream in Portland. Some ultra weird savory flavors like sweet potatoes with gravy can be had here. I prefer to stick to the sweet ones.
Their Coconut with Petunias Salted Caramel Bars is dairy and gluten free . The absolute best coconut milk ice cream I've ever had.
The line gets usually till the front door. But don't worty: as soon as you get your ice-cream yo won't regret at all. My choice: Chocolate Gooey Brownie .
The strawberry rhubarb is coconut-based and vegan , without advertising it that way. You would never know it's not dairy if you didn't ask. The owner is a DOLL - def ask if he's around!
Delicious rich & creamy w high butter fat content (I won't tell you, but it's totally worth it) They were also nice enough to do a 1/2 1/2 single scoop! Almond brittle and salted ganache .
Waffle cones are scrumptious! Flavored are mind blowingly amazing. Sample anything and everything. Be ready to wait in line , but so worth the wait
This is the best ice cream shop for me , I was taking a salt caramel , but this time I take a cinnamon snickerdoodles and i like it .
A+ for their ice cream and service! Get the almond brittle with sea salt ganache and cinnamon snickerdoodle ! Mhmmmmm!
(Sea salt ) is the best ice cream 🍦 I have ever tried.
Really amazing flavor combinations and everyone who works there is a joy to be around. Try the olive oil with a scoop of lavender honey .
Portland is one of the buzziest food cities in America for many reasons...one of which is ice cream . The sea salt caramel and lavender honey are two standouts. Read more
It's tough to get in and out in less than an hour but it's totally worth it. Taste everything. Really, they don't mind at all
The exotic flavors I tried or had (olive oil , strawberry balsamic, pear & blue cheese ) were tasty but a bit muted. Could have used more liberal use of flavors.
don't think you can go wrong with any of the flavors here! best ice cream i've ever had.
Pro tip: the lines can be long. If you grab a point to go, you can go straight to the front.
Get the tasting flight from Salt & Straw. You don't get a cone , but why only try one flavor when you can try four? It's simple math, people.
Go at odd times. Wait is worth it. Go for the interesting flavored. Splitting scoop also worth it if you can't decide. Bypass line by buying a pint.
Best gourmet ice cream I've ever tasted, you should try the pear w blue cheese and almond brittle.
Their scoops are pretty large -- so you can ask for a single split scoop which gives you two flavors.
If you have had the Strawberry balsamic vinegar try the sea salt with caramel . Best to have in a cone ; saltiness of the ice-cream with the sweetness of the cone , yum.
Must eat all the flavors. Strawberry balsamic, honey lavender , and chocolate gooey brownie .
Share an ice cream flight- any four junior-sized scoops. Fresh, unique flavors. I love Honey Lavender and Sea Salt & Caramel Ribbon.
My favorites are Arbequina olive oil and Strawberry honey bslsamic vinegar with cracked black pepper .... surprisingly delicious. Arbewuina is also one of Oprah's favorite
You can never go wrong with ice cream , but you can certainly take it places it’s never been before, like Salt & Straw does with awesomely unexpected flavor combos. This ain’t your old school Rainbow.
Try the seasonal flavors . Service here is great. The snicker doodle was absolutely delicious.
Let's be honest: the amount of time you can spend in line here can be ridiculous (1 hr+ on occasion), but the ice cream is a revelation. Hint: You can skip the line if you grab a pint.
Delicious ice cream in many fancy flavors. The staff is super friendly .
Strawberry balsamic is simply too good! But don't take my word for it--sample them all.
