@Alameda Cineplex , my boyfriend and I love this theater. Originally built in 1932, but closed in 1979 because of declining sales. Reopened in 2008 beautifully restored to its original glory.
Most comfortable movie theater seats ever! Plus it's magical walking in to the theater (look up). It's the classiest movie theater I've ever been to.
The stunning art deco architecture alone is worth the price of admission. Take some time to speak with the docent who is almost always taking tickets to learn more about the history of the theater.
Great local theater, very community minded, worth spending your money at rather than the big theater chains. Better prices, food and service too.
Free parking in the lot around back after 5pm. Great historical theater. Right by Park Street so you can walk around for food before or after the movie .
Give plenty of time to find parking & slog through the frigging sloooooowwwwwwww snack bar !
Beautiful old building with excellently appointed theaters, and none too crowded !
Hella nice theatre. 2-drink maximum on alcoholic drinks . Nice restaurant that'll print your movie tix out if you get there early.
One of the best movie theaters in the East Bay .
Great movie theatre in the heart of alameda surrounded by great restaurants plus family friendly
All movies come with free racially insensitive talking nachos !!!!
Great theater. Only sullied by the fact that the owner is a dickhole of the highest caliber. The kind of guy skeleton and Ming the merciless would go to sub-par strip clubs with.
Several movie theaters housed inside of this beautiful historical art-deco building. A hidden treasure in the Bay Area.
Beautiful auditorium ! Plush seats and a large screen in a magnificent art deco building!
If you want just a light snack , order a kid's pack: just enough popcorn , a tiny beverage and Skittles!
The whole theatre is amazing.
$5 tickets on Tuesdays! Beautiful historic theatre in downtown Alameda.

Gorgeous theater! Not the most impressive snacks , though.
Comfortable status, usually not many people, service is great
Great architecture , less crowded .
Try to see a movie in the big theater . Its amazing!
Go between shows and talk to the on-staff historical docent . He can reveal sparkling details about the building, art and history of the theatre
Go on Sundays when the parking garage is free...
Free parking for 3 hours in garage on Oak if you give your receipt
Great theater. Nuff said
they have a magician & local talent show performing on weekends before the main show. it's rad
The architect who designed this theater also did the Paramount and Castro theaters - many amazingly beautiful details.
Gorgeous restored independent theater near lots of restaurants .
Sounds in the old theatre is excellent
Show your parking garage stub to get a 3 hour coupon for parking on your next visit.
Great popcorn .
I love the older gent (and I mean gent) that takes tickets
Popcorn is good
Theaters are nice and clean .
Check out the recent renovation (Art Deco opulence!) and catch a classic flick on the historic main screen
Cozy but nothing fancy
Great Deco details!
The seats are amazingly comfortable . Want some for my house.
It's bad enough we have to play a lot for tickets and overpriced food, but local spam before the movie ?
Killer Big Screen , quality popcorn and easy parking .
The union still picketing out front
Free parking in the lot around the corner after 5:00.
I am wearing pants, thanks to G.R..
They don't like it when you don't wear pants
$1 hot dogs near last showings
Don't bother buying overpriced candy here. There's a CVS right around the corner by the parking lot .
Matinee its a good deal here
Local pre-show talent on weekends.
