Zoo Antwerpen

Opened in 1843, Belgium's oldest zoo is also one of the oldest zoos in the world. Worth a visit, not only because of the animals, but because of its beautiful monumental buildings too.

Must visit when in Antwerp . Be sure to check out the tigers, apes, butterflies . The zoo is beautifully situated in the heart of Antwerp . The historic zoo has nice Art Deco buildings.

Maybe the best zoo I've visited! It's lush and green, well laid out with a nice variety of animals in near-natural environments. The aquarium and mammals house are especially good. Go in the spring!

if you come by train , buy a combined train + zoo entrance ticket..

Impressive! Many species, mostly big sized cages (except for some birds which was sad to watch) and amazing garden arrangements. Worth visiting, especially with children (stroller friendly ).

We have so much enjoyed our day at the Antwerp Zoo that we got ourselves a family year membership card ! They currently (Summer 2014) have an offer you can't refuse ????

Best zoo in Belgium! The entrance and restaurant have been recently renovated. Take a look at the big aquarium : in the morning you can see the sun come up here.

It's a small #zoo but has lots to see. If you know you are bound to visit more than twice in a year then get a family card which allows u free access 365 days a year and other benefits

It's the 1st big zoo I have visited and I was amazed! I don't like in prison animals and some of them looked miserable and it was very sad...but I had the chance to see animals I could not imagined.

One of the most beautiful city zoos you'll ever find. The entrance zone has recently been refurbished so that you get a good impression before really entering.

My favorite place is the Nocturama, the nocturnal house, next to the underwater view of the sealions. Take the time to spot aardvark, tamandua, slender loris, etc.

Very clean zoo with every animal you want to see..A lot families every weekend..The most beautiful is black puma..

Impressive light sculptures , fire baskets near the entrance and beautiful blue Ara's on your way to the jaguars. Don't expect too much of the restaurant .

If you live in Antwerp you should treat yourself to a subscription. It's great to have the freedom to stroll through the zoo on a sunny day.

Came at 4pm for the Zoo and also Chinese Light but it started at 6pm for another €36 ???? ....

Very big and completely refurbished zoo in the middle of Antwerp , next to the train station . Kids love it

One of the oldest and most visited zoos in the world. Some very nice animals on exhibit .

Specialized in Congolese species like okapi, Congo peacock and eastern gorilla, the only zoo in the world with this darker gorilla species.

We visit very often this ZOO and it incredibly improves over time. Definitelly worth of seeing.

Nice and big zoo right near the central station

There are QR codes all around the place to scan with your mobile and discover a lot more info about the animals! Big fun... loved it.

A small, but good feeling zoo . Perfect for a summer stroll. Also, penguins.

in 2016 there will be a lot of construction work going on. This might not be the moment to visit if you’re an occasional visitor.

A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE!! Sad and rundown zoo , animals looking quite sad and abandoned, half attractions were closed or not accessible...Still you pay the full price! :-C

Zoo is very nicely renovated

At this time of the year about 1/3 of the Zoo was closed.

A nice 'garden ' in the middle of the town . A place to find some peace
