Great atmosphere and good food. Their chicken fried steak is amazing and they have the best margaritas . It's located right on the river and right behind Gruene Hall. It's a must do!

I had at this time a beef salad that was great. My husband had the amazing fried steak with Gruene beans . I never had a bad meal at this place. Order anything you like and it will be great.

scenery, baked potato salad , onion rings . can get busy, but the outside view is nice. great for dates, friends, family. no a.c. so can be very warm in the summer indoors. one of my faves in Gruene.

I definitely love this place. It has a nice ambiance and great food. To choose a favorite is hard, because everything from their salads , seasonal specials , to their specialty plates are amazing.

You can't go wrong with anything...but to go right - get the Baby Back Ribs as it's a can't miss! Relax with a Jalapeño Margarita...they are da bomb 💣

Big, delicious portions in a beautiful, riverside setting. The meat is high quality and cooked well without much adorning. Highly recommend the 'best' wurst as either an appetizer or entree.

The salads are huge and delicious. I got the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad and I couldn't even finish it. My husband got the Chicken Fried Steak & loved it. Service is great and quick. A little too $$

The atmosphere here is wonderful. As many recommended, I got the chicken fry and onion rings . Both were just okay in my opinion. The gravy was kind of congealed like it had been setting out a while.

The trout is a must, try also de tenderloin sandwich and the shrimps . Side order de best the fries and the potato salad

Had lunch there today. Acapulco Chicken w Mashed Potatoes was very good. Waitress was very accommodating. A little cold but sat by heater and I was fine. Price was good and great river view . Awesome!

Atmosphere is great food is very good, huge portions , staff very pleasant always busy but it's a tourist attraction . A bit over priced 65 for lunch for 3 sandwiches and 3 sides

Beautiful restaurant on the river . No bad seats! CFS, Baby back ribs and a ribeye was our dinner ! All was excellent with the ribs being our favorite!

The chicken fried steak was so good. The onion rings were great. The round cut fries were not very good due to lack of seasoning. They provided a seasoned salt that added some flavor and that helped.

Trust me - the two dishes to order are chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak . Everything is great, but these two dishes are exceptional. Possibly best in TX.

Baby back ribs are marinated overnight, unbelievably delicious! Side - get the mashed potatoes *loaded*

Great ambiance inside and out- overlooks the river with a large waiting area outside. Stick with burgers and sandwiches or CFS-- MONSTER Onion Rings that Rock. Plan on a wait during holiday/weekends

Live music while you wait for your name to be written on the chalk board is the best way to ever have to wait for a table.

If you ever make your way to Gruene by accident or otherwise, this restaurant is worth the trip! Service was fantastic, food was phenomenal and the restaurant itself is beautiful.

The Baby Back Ribs are to die for... If you don't see them on the menu ask for them. They usually will still serve them. Also get the loaded mashed potatoes . This place is great after a good float.

The chicken fried steak is wonderful... The t-bone was so tender and cooked perfectly.... The service and the scenery was great.... You will love..

Best, baddest and biggest onion rings out there! Just don't recommend visiting during the summer. It's hellaciously hot.

The pulled pork sandwich , which was their special today was amazing. They put a lot meat in it and it melts in your mouth. Also get the baked potato salad !

Fresh catch was salmon , had it blackened and it was really good. The round cut fries are pretty good too. No A/C though, so you may want to avoid eating here on too hot of a day.

Warm fireplace in the winter amazing decks throughout the rest of the year. Broc cheese soup is amazing. Grilled chicken sandwich on wheat is always good.

I’ve been coming here for years and I always have to get the tortilla soup . They also have a great view of the river !

Neat looking place. We tried the onion rings , "best" wurst , ribeye , ribs , squash , and pasta salad . The wurst , ribeye , & squash was "ok", the rest sucked so much I was afraid to order dessert . :(

It could have just been me since there were ALOT of people there who seemed to love it, but I didn't really enjoy my food or my experience. But with good friends you can have fun anywhere.

I have loved everything here. The Gristburger is amazing my favorite though is the beef tenderloin salad .

O Rings are gigantic! Strawberry shortcake looked amazing and huge but we had no room left to eat it. Somebody get it and tell me how it is, pls
