Atlanta History Center

The AHC is a great place to learn about Atlanta's history. It holds one of the largest collections of Civil War artifacts in the United States .

Inside is undergoing renovation but the grounds are excellent. Kids loved walking around outside. Don't miss the nature center.

Virgil was a great tour guide at the Swan House ! He was filled with information about the history of the house, filming The Hunger Games, and kept us laughing!

A good museum with exhibits on Civil War, Olympics and houses from the 1930s and 1850s. On 30 wooded acres , you could make a day of this place - and probably should.

The Atlanta History Center features 32 acres of gardens , wildlife trails and woodland areas. The complex includes the Tullie Smith House (1840s) and the fully restored 1928 Swan House mansion.

During a visit to the Atlanta History Center don’t miss the chance for a photo opportunity at the bottom of the great lawn stairs.

Walk to the Swan House and snap a picture on the lawn with the mansion in the background. Don’t forget the quaint gardens around the house!

Civil War Information stunningly presented, you can study in detail or just scratch the surface but still understand and benefit from the experience.

You really need to spend all day here. There is soo many cool things to do. Make sure to visit the houses and gardens in the back. Also very cool civil war and Atlanta History. Don't Miss Anything!

Civil War exhibit is excellent and does not deny slavery was the cause (refreshing to see this in the South)

Inside the Civil War exhibit you will find the diary of Carrie Berry . Written when she was just 10 years old, it details her experiences during the Battle of Atlanta. She resides in Oakland Cemetery . Read more

So much history in this place, the Olympic hall is so great.

Entrance to some of the sections of this museum are free to the public. Take advantage and learn some history.
