Go around the back and order sushi rolls from the fish market ! Get em sliced or unsliced. I get the soft shell crab roll unsliced and eat it like a burrito at the beach .

Best place in Hanalei. Good sushi & poke 4 apps. Fresh fish was good 4 main entree (got Mahi Mahi instead of Ono). Stay away from salmon , shrimp and other fish that's shipped in. Overall solid dinner

Great restaurant . Friendly service . Lots of locals eating , which is a good sign. We had the Hebi fish . It was good. And the Stolen Roll. Also good. All the sushi rolls being made looked fantastic.

Everybody loved what they ordered. Fried shrimp , blackened swordfish , teriyaki ahi , hawaiian chicken and the mochi dessert ! And...the mai tai was amazing! Pricey !

I've never gone to the same restaurant 2X whilst on vacation until The Dolphin! Chill atmosphere. Artichoke crowns and scallops are lick-the-plate good! Teriyaki ahi , mochi , sushi rolls . Worth the $$!

We found it overpriced for the experience but highly recommend checking out their fish market in the back which has the same delicious poke and rolls for less and very cheap fresh shucked oysters 😋

Everything is good. We went here 3 times in a 10 day so ay. Fish is so fresh and accommodate several different preparations. Highly recommend.

Food was a little overpriced but still good quality. They only serve select appetizers and sushi menu items as well as cocktails after the lunch check rush and before 5:30. Sit in the garden !

Best sushi in Kauai . Stolen Roll will make you see God. And whatever the special is that night, get it. Chef Jeff is a genius.

The fish sandwich was really good! The fish was super fresh. The fish of the day was the stripped Marlin, really yummy. Mild taste not fishy at all.

Dolphin roll is excellent (spicy tuna + crab + avocado & cucumber ). Sit on the outside restaurant (but not in the garden unless you want slower service)

Stay outside in the waiting area if you want wine , apps or sushi . Lindsay is the best waitress , we asked for a sushi rec and she gave us a recommendation not even on the list - "the next best thing"

Great place to get fresh fish for grilling. They also have a selection of meat and they hand cut it to your liking.

Nice view on the river and excellent sushi / maki . Ask the local ones !

The sushi here is incredible. They don't take reservations so come early for a drink (i recommend the skinny chi-chi) while you wait for your table.

Popular seafood place in Hanalei town . Very nice blackened fish salad with blue cheese dressing . Nice Mai tai too.

Fish tacos for lunch @ an outside table ! Come back for dinner and enjoy the specialty sushi rolls ! Staff was attractive and tentative!

All the sushi is amazing, the poke appetizer is sublime, and for lunch get the steak sandwich its ridiculous (the other person get some fish and share)

wait - before you eat here, consider going to the fish market behind the restaurant , getting some fresh sushi rolls and eating them picnic style at the beach !

Insanely good sashimi ; fresh and wonderful. If you can't decide on a roll, try the Stolen Roll--you will not be disappointed.

Don't forget to go behind the resturant and get frish from the market behind this place! I can say expencive but worth it!

Sit by the garden in back. I had the rainbow poke and a Marlin sandwich . My wife had fish tacos and onion rings . All very good.

The bartenders are friendly and helpful if you choose to eat at the bar top. Dinner is much better than lunch for sushi !

Food was overpriced & I was skeptical about this place. I figured I’d get fried calamari since it’s nearly impossible to mess up. They served large rectangles of the stuff w/gross batter for 31 bucks.

You can only order from the full sushi menu at dinner . So if you come during lunch you're out of luck, but the Cali roll is still great

The no ka oi is THE best Mai Tai . The sushi is straight off the boat out of the fish market they own. Amazing!

Friday Nights: get the sushi special roll . Tempura Lobster Roll ! Sit at the Sushi Bar and have Chef Jeff and Gary make you the best sushi I have ever had!

Best sushi in Kauai ! The opah and walu were amazing - have them chargrilled so u can taste the flavor of the fish !

The fish is the best on the island , but the salad is the best in the world!

Try the Eruption cocktail . It's a Pina Colada on steroids. Also, hamachi kama , spicy tuna/snowcrab sushi roll assortment , ahi sashimi , blackend Ono.

The Flyin Hawaiian is one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had.

get the no ka oi (top shelf mai tais - best on the island ) and jeff makesthe best freshest sushi creations on the island ;)

Have a premium Mai tai and watch people paddle board down the river
