Maybe my favorite place in the city ? Great, intimate space . Mirrors strategically placed so you can really see how the pianist and drummer play. Performers are incredible and magnetic.
Listen to the best emerging stars in this quintessential jazz bar . Perfect for a relaxed, wine and music filled evening. The $20 cover charge is less than most places considering the quality of music .
Great small live jazz club. Friendly staff , cheap beer and well spent 20$ entrance fee which gives you also the right to enter the other Smalls club across the street.
Homage to original, long closed, black-owned, Small’s Paradise in Harlem. This smalls does justice to that venue by featuring the best jazz musicians around. Go to an afternoon show to avoid crowds.
As the name suggests, this is a small venue . Get in the line early after buying your ticket online then find a seat up the front. You will feel like you are part of the band.
Intimate setting for live jazz . We made a reservation in advanced, seems like it’s easier to get tickets at the door for late night shows. Tight space so use the restroom and such before the show!
20$ well spent for first class jazz.not much room inside so get there early. 3 daily sessions from 7:30pm. Great atmosphere. No food
Amazing music and atmosphere. Oh and there's a cat hanging around the club too, so that's a big plus! Kudos to the bartender for his awesome cocktails
We had a great time here. People are cool and welcoming. "The Flail" was playing high quality music ! Well do not be surprised, the smalls is small ;-) you may want to arrive early to have a sit.
Spend an evening sipping on a drink and listening to fabulous jazz with other music aficionados. The $20 cover is cheaper than other joints and well worth it.
Excellent little jazz room in one of the city ’s most charming corners
The most amazing jazz club in the city with an intimate setting that makes you feel like you're in the band! Can't wait to go back!
Quintessential place for an intimate jazz night in the city . Require one drink.
Some of the best jazz in the village . Get there on time to get a seat. $20 cover but drinks priced reasonably.
Just walk down the stairs, seat as close as you can to the stage, order a G&T and let yourself go. Pure NYC Jazz vibe on an untoppable location.
Awesome jazz venue with great atmosphere, service, and musicians . So far my favorite jazz venue in nyc, great value for $20
One of my favorite NY jazz clubs . Can’t go wrong here. Your tickets also gets you into sister club Mezzro across the street.
$20 cover is well worth the quality jazz you get. Stay all night if you want. Definitely a cool low key NY establishment.
Come early to snag a seat, it gets packed early on
Favorite spots in NYC! Good quality music , great spot, great musicians ! cash only
This is the real deal. NYC’s jazz scene is happening here, night after night. Come late (2am) if you want to catch the jam session .
Make sure to reserve tickets in advance. Its a small venue and they will sell out
World class jazz in an authentic environment. What else could you ask for? Order a Booker’s and a can beer and get carried away.
Nice and intimate spot in NYC, sit right next to the band and enjoy the smooth jazz !
Great venue for awesome jazz ! I love spending time at this classic jazz spot!
Wonderful small (no pun) club that brings an intimate jazz experience . Super unique.
Been years since I've been here, but it was an incredible time. Got to the bar at 1130pm, and listened to a small group do a jam session on a random Thursday night. It was a great experience.
The cheapest cover charge at any jazz club in the city . Only $20 and good all night - try asking for that at the vanguard or blue note and be prepared to be laughed at.
Loved the intimate space and being close to the music . Will be going back soon!
Sunday fun-day takes on a new meaning. Go early, stay late. Late night jam session is great if you're looking for local flavor. Provides a community for musicians local and abroad. It's authentic .
This place offers an intimate jazz experience that the pro's prefer and only locals know about. Make sure to add this place to your to-do list and check out our other local jazz picks on MetroFocus. Read more
Very small and home place. No matter where you sit, you are always in arms reach to the music . The art that that sell is done by one of the bar tenders
The best jazz around. Make sure to get in line early to secure a seat and let the music take you away.
Tiny, dark, and always packed, Smalls is the city ’s quintessential, late-night jazz club , where emerging stars jam until the wee hours. Mon-Sun: 4pm-4am | $20 cover after 7:30pm
Get there near the tail end of the matinée sessions (4pm-7pm) and the cover's only $10. NEVER a drop in quality, always only the finest jazz musicians .
Some amazing musician plays here!! Make sure to arrive a little early to take a seat, as the name suggests the place isn't big.
Great space with live jazz and friendly staff . Arrive early to grab a seat. $20 cover charge .
Jazz is good. Drinks are fine. Stick with the beer and the wine .
If you like jazz and happen to be in NY, you have to drop by. Doesn't matter the day really
Intimate. Simple but good drinks. Great bands. This place is just special. Highly recommend.
Precious moments of great music creation, friendly and close atmosphere, and fine drinks.
Get there early if you want a front row seat, but any seat in the house is great for sound, relax, don't worry bout it
I heard good things about Smalls and it didn't disappoint. Great mix of performers and diverse crowd really getting into it.
For me the best place to enjoy Jazz live in New York, until late @night (3 or 4 different concerts everyday)
If you want to get a seat I recommend coming early Read more
The jam sessions are generally great. You never know who is going to stop by. Roy Hargrove played trumpet last time I was there. Great night.
Reserve early, they sell out quickly.
The drinks are on the weak side but the music is exceptional.
$20 cover charge and intimate setting . Get there about 30 min early to get a good seat.
Careful with the bartender . We asked for a russian mule And a whole chunk of ginger came in The glass. It should be an accent of ginger not a whole piece of it. Not sure if he/she knew The recipe.
Wonderful spot for jazz. Great acoustics. Terrific cocktails. Fantastic atmosphere. - Mark B
Great Jazz club. It was our first time there and would definitely go back the next time we are in the city. - Debbie Koerner
feels like home. The food is spectacular too! Must have the veggie dish. - Maritza Spitler

Best pizza in Greenwich Village. The Nonna Maria is so simple, yet such a wonderful combination of flavors! - Minnie Kim
