The wooden pylons sticking out of the water are the last remnant of a tide-powered mill that fed colonial troops, both American and Hessian. The mill burned down in the '30s.
on the catwalk over the salt marsh near the interpretive center, look down in the mud to spot the colony of dozens of tiny crabs and their crab holes
