From the first bite of the chicken liver paté on toast , I knew this was going to be a memorable experience. The main was possibly the best lamb I've had. Staff is wonderful, listen to their tips
Definitely the pasta - the beef shin ragu is excellent! Very tasty aubergine main, and outstanding lemon tart for dessert
Rainbow trout is pink on the bone and delicious. Comes with pink and red beets , and mashed aubergine . I also tucked into Tom's polenta , which was better than a brownie .
I would lie, cheat and steal to eat here as often as I can. There is always a vegetarian option on the ever-changing menu and the wine list is a treasure trove.
This Italian spot is great with a few friends because it means you get to share a bunch of the delicious, seasonal offerings .
Try everything... Start at the top of the menu and work your way down (might be worth taking a few friends ). Seriously good food. Staff seem lovely too.
Monthly changing menus: fettucine with ragu of Mangalitsa pigs from Hungary, papardelle with shin, spaghettini with shetland mussels , etc.
Good Italian food . Informal setting, attentive service and great meat dishes. For veggies the tagliatelle with Amalfi lemon and parmesan is sublime but Jerusalem artichoke crepe is missing something.
What a nice place and amazing food. Service was excellent. I took the burrata & the pappardelle , I recommend both.
Friendly service and great pasta - if only they have more choices on their daily changing menu !
Need to make a reservation as it gets booked up. request to sit upstairs in your reservation comments. Pasta is incredible
Superb restaurant . Delicious food served by knowledgeable staff in thoughtfully, but not overly, designed setting. Agree with Andrea S. - do not miss the beef shin papardelle .
Very good food although a bit pricey . We loved papardelle al ragu and a hake the most!
Excellent fresh ingredients , sophisticated dishes, perfect pasta al dente , sublime panna cotta . Classy .
Food very good but sizzling fat smell from cpork chops in open flame bit over powering maybe downstairs better staff lovley very freindly stuffed figs very good indeed
Great local restaurant . Menu is considered and the service is faultless. The staff is knowledgeable and very attentive. Lovely restaurant !
Could have eaten everything on the menu. The beef ragu really is as good as they say. Can't wait to return.
Everything is absolutely amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough
V cool idea to help local charity as small addition to bill. Think about upping the donation by asking staff or check out www.manorgardenscentre.org
Such a sexy vibe, amazing food and amazing service
Superb! The fried thin strips of pig 's ears with anchovies dip are a delicacy. Great service. Good value for money .
I had the raw veal here and it was very good. Also recommending the home made raspberry ripple ice-cream. Great place, real buzz, hard to get a table so book ahead.
Chicken liver pappardelle was a tasty starter, but otherwise food felt a touch over-rated (monkfish w. squid ink polenta was v pricey , but so-so). Sadly the beef shin ragu wasn't on when we went :\
One of my fav pasta pasta in London. Their ragu pappardelle is Devine.
Try the brussel sprouts with pancetta , chestnuts & Gorgonzola .... Devine. And the service is impeccable.
Bruschetta is a wonderful appetizer . Get at least two pastas
as an Italian, I can recommend. but the dishes are quite small
Rude service. Were told at the beginning to hurry up with our food order and were (kindly) kicked out the second we finished our last plate.
the interior, staff and food is just wonderful.
If you're with an Arsenal fan who insists on going to Emirates Stadium , insist on dinner here. But you must make reservations !
Great ragu , nice service. Crab linguini was ok but lacked salt and brown crab
The ragu , recommended by others, is a great dish. Try it!
If you leave this place without trying the Beef Shin Ragu , you're a fool. A FOOL!
Best pasta I’ve had, ever
Great food. And a great wine list ! A hidden gem in Islington
Great food, charming atmosphere and excellent service. Remember to book !
Trullo features super-friendly staff , niftily priced wine and a funky laid-back space - the food's not bad either, by the way. Metro gave it 3 out of 5 Stars. Read more
Exceptional Italian food , wonderful service
Make sure you have everything . The pasta , meat, wine is all increadible, and the service cordial and low key - a real winner
Rustic Italian food , their tiramisu is DIVINE
Friendly staff and very cool decor. Food was average for the price you pay.
I thought it was very average. The waitress was very surly and the food was only average. The beef shin pappardelle was nice but the lamb special wasn't great
Lovely setting, great decoration, nice service, OK food.
Disappointing service, with staff telling us twice to hurry up with our dinner , which should not happen in restaurants at this price point.
The ravioli was ridiculously good
It's ALL about the beef shin. Trust me
Try the slow-cooked lamb with grilled eggplant and salsa verde .
Skin-contact wines ????
Good food and disorganized, lukewarm service. If you’re after pasta , skip Trullo and head to their sister restaurant Padella
Panacotta is AMAZING!
Great meal. Get the gnocchi if homemade/on special. Try the chocolate salami for desert if you like delicious chocolate crunchiness. - John
Freshest pasta in a minimal, stylish and relaxing environment. Could eat here every day! - María
Daylight Music on Saturdays is great - music, tea, cakes and free with a suggested donation of £3.50 - Simon Willison
Great quiz night on a Tuesday, and big enough to usually have a table free. Good pub fare too. - John Gilberts
Great cocktails, the Gonzales, like others have mentioned is fantastic. - Ben Lander
