Van Dee's Ice Cream Shoppe

I like this place. It has a wonderful, neighborhood ice cream shop feel and is a perfect way to enjoy an evening treat after a warm, Iowa summer day.

It takes cash only , but this is the best ice cream in town ! Amazing strawberry sundae !

A very traditional way of business. Would go there more often if they would accept credit/debit cards.

1st time here. Had a med twist cone . The ice cream itself is a better consistency than DQ

In no way is DQ better or cheaper. And the people here are nice and know how to do their job.

Service can be kind of slow but the ice cream is better than any chain.

I always prefer to go local but there's a DQ across the street that won't take as long or mess up my order every time. Their grasshopper was just vanilla ice cream with cookies and no mint .

Too pricy for it's "Mom and Pop" attitude. $5.00 for a cheeseburger ? $3.50 for a side of onion rings ? No thanks. Ice cream is Sara Ann brand. At least a bottled water is only $1.

Dq is better and cheaper.
