The grade was built by the Norwegian settlers of Thousand Oaks from 1909 to 1911 using dynamite, manual labor and horse-drawn earth movers . A historic marker is near the top.
Heads up, there are quite a few cyclists on here. Then there is the exceptional dumb ass who rides without a helmet.
