Plenty of different circuits can be made up for running other than the figure of eight. Tennis courts are free to use!
Great beginners jogging circuit in a figure 8 round the park which is also lit at night.
Parkrun is a great 5km run hosted here at 9am every Saturday. Get your running shoes on!

Good for dog walking
Go the the pond and feed the ducks, geese, moorhens et al, chat the the fishermen, all with an ice lolly on hand.
