Robarts Library is a college library Toronto University located in Canada.
130 St George St (University of Toronto) Toronto ON M5S 1A5 Canada
Probably one of the most interesting architectural landmarks in the city , the Robarts Library is great to shoot from any angle. Then, check out their selection of Photography books !
Nice place for studying and research. Staff is attentive, the collection is huge and the resources abundant, including computers, scanners and video collection. Relatively close to the subway station .
If you have to study here, the best, most quiet , and brightest places are the 8th floor Hong Kong Library or the Inforum on the 4th floor of the iSchool, though hours are more limited.
If you really need it, you should know that Robarts is open 24h for all UofT students with Tcard. Beat my personal record of *26h non stop* (if you care more about your paper than your health) !
Water fountains seem hard to come by! There's 2 that I use: 1st floor & 3rd floor by the male/female washrooms on both. 2nd floor one is hidden (by payphones/ATM) and useless/undrinkable.
Tip 2 if Lira people are on the computers for more than 1 hr they should be automatically logged off so other visiting university or college students can use it too.
I actually like the architecture . Lots of study spaces and you can just study here whoever you are.
Great library ! Has a grand feel to it. Kept very clean and furniture & electronics up to date. Ample study rooms .
Check out the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library . It was the inspiration for the secret library in Umberto Eco's the Name of the Rose .
I don't like to study in that group tables. They would install more individual chairs. But it is a good place to study and the internet is good.
I love food as much as the next person, but PLEASE don't bring your smelly food into the study areas ! The other 30 people don't wanna smell it & there are plenty of places to eat downstairs.
The Lira situation on 4th floor is madness tip 1 1more lira comupter won't hurt the uofT students .
Hefty $250 annual fee for a borrowing card for external researchers regardless of whether you're at another uni or an independent. New policy since the last time I used the library for free.
if you are in a hurry or don't want deal with the line up or don't particularly need to get Starbucks at Robarts...just go to the one at Athletic Centre, you don't have to wait
When choosing a quiet study area , pick a place away from doors. They are all extremely squeaky and distracting
4th floor is the the best, there are secret study nooks!
Here's a tip: shut up! It's a library . The stacks study rooms are not party rooms . And mobile phones are for mobility: go outside and talk about what he said behind her back 'cause we don't care!
Check out the used books for sale in the food court when its open. Cheap way to pad your personal library .
Check which elevators you have to take before going up the stack
20 years later it smells the same
The higher you go, the less reception you have. Make your phone calls on the second and main floors.
Most recently seen styled as a post-apocalyptic prison block in Resident Evil IV: Afterlife. In reality it's slightly more cheerful.
Summer hours (May 7 - September 6) mon-thur 8:30am-11pm / fri 8:30am-6pm / sat 9am-5pm / sun 1pm-6pm .. closed: Victoria Day, Canada Day, Aug 2nd 22nd 29th and Labour Day.
Don't use Skype here, even in the private study rooms . It's a library . We can all hear you!
If you're in the study rooms in the stacks, SHUT THE FUCK UP! We can all hear you from outside.
If you don't want to get sick don't come, people coughing all over without caring about others
There is a food court on the 2nd floor! Had no clue.
New dyson hand driers in the bathrooms ... The best thing to happen to Robarts since resident evil
Be prepared to be robbed of your arts at the door.
Media rooms on the main floor are great for group work (media related or otherwise!). Book them at the print desk.
The Info Commons help desk on the ground floor is the place for all your tech support needs. Just don't ask us about the library .
Take advantage of the private conversation rooms on the stack floors!
The Asian library on the 8th floor is great
Love&hate relationship
Bathrooms are located on odd number floors, so 1,3,5
Close your eyes and it will all be over.
Won't let you go up to the stacks if you are an undergraduate anywhere other than u of t.
When you're bored, do a photo shoot. There are a lot of cool things you can find in the stacks.
The only place you can find a copy of 'Pretty Little Liars' in all of Toronto.
Never bored
Hanging out at the Petro Jacyk Centre!
Its freezing in here, I just can't win!
Pimp smack people talking loudly on their cell phones.
Why are the Dyson hand dryers mounted so high?
Imressed with the bathroom remodel... especially the space-aged hand driers
Don't come here when you're sick... you selfish, ignorant people.
My temporary work location
Don't come to Robarts.
its sinking
