The Dim Sum is a must!! Taro cakes , Cha Shu Bao , Shu Mai, and Shrimp and Leek dumpling are AMAZING !! Go hungry and expect a feast!!

The best Chinese food on Long Island hands-down. Get the Hong Kong beef with string beans and Lotus and scallion and ginger spicy lobster !!

Owner Tommy Tan recommends the shrimp with walnuts in an ivory mayo sauce or the crunchy fried chicken with roasted garlic . Be patient- that is the trade-off to enjoy top LI Chinese food .

Excellent squid with ginger and scallions . And a fantastic vinegar based hot and sour soup . Sesame chicken was light and fresh!!

By far one of the best places on the island for chinese food . The shrimp fried rice is delish.

The last time I was here a year or two ago the food was amazing. This time it was pretty bad. Wife's veggie & tofu dish was horrible. I had beef chow fun and a shrimp app both were very greasy.

Tommy Tan is the owner and manager and is almost always in the restaurant . I highly recommend that you ask for his daily specials instead of simply ordering the "American" Chinese food off the menu .

Be prepared to wait up to an hour more than they tell you the wait time is. No reservations accepted, though, and the food is great. Bring your own bottle of wine !

The Orient reopened on Wednesday, August 17th after being closed for renovations since March 2011. I highly recommend NOT going to the restaurant within the first few weeks of reopening. Too busy!

Best Chinese I have found on this island ! Excellent service and amazing food!

Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but what we had was just as good as any other Chinese spot.

Try the tangerine chicken its amazing but beware of the hot peppers on the dish...they'll get ya every time

The orient is clossed down cuz they didn't have a permit to renovate.. Now I can't walk down the block to get Chinese food :(
