Wondered into the wine cellar and tried the white and rose tasting. Knowledgeable staff walked me through the wines . I ended up buying a bottle and the tasting was free with the purchase!
Soft pretzel w/ cheese , pink Floyd cocktail , & my man loved the pepperoni pizza & hazelnut liqueur , three rocks rum , & white Russian . The soaking pool is amazing!
What a blast! Read between the lines on the artwork decorating everything. There has to be some divine and herbal inspiration involved. Would make for a fun art history tour .
Whiskey is nice, interesting beer . They have a couple fires set up, which I amazing till the typical Troutdale wind kicks up
One of my favorite hotels . The campus has so much to offer so there's never a boring moment. Word is that room 215 is haunted...
Don't lug just any lawn chairs to this event . There's a height requirement and they'll take your chairs and umbrellas. Just come and rent a $5 chair. And bring cash.
The best! So many options here. Different restaurants , bars , music , even a spa .
If you do the wine tasting and buy a bottle of wine , your tasting just might be free! Bottle was $21 but the $12 tasting fee was waived. 6 (x2) "samples" that were practically full glasses plus bottle
Came here by accident and now I wish I had more time here. A great place to stay! They also have dorms!
FAVORITE. It's like crazy wonderland of former-poor-farm cum eating/drinking everywhere. Definitely go, no matter what. Eat, drink, and steal a pear .
Best to get a room in the middle of week! Always available..check out the beer tap location in the black rabbit bar ! Might be surprised :)
Fabulous rose and raspberry sauce around 3X chocolate cheesecake
Very cool place for a walk and a beverage.
Grab a beer at one of the many pubs and explore this wonderful historic property.
Try the soaking pool at Ruby's Spa . Free when staying the night. It will melt your troubles away. Don't forget your bathrobe and towel. Both are in your room.
Decent rooms at decent prices. A lot to do on the property and it's well-kept.
The best hallway to stay in is the Wine Hall. Those are the suites. Make reservations a few years in advance tho. :-)
Always a good time here with a lot of walking for a strong heart
It is a large, fun McMenamins! Spend the day there.
Get a cigar from Tim's Cigars up the road and have a smoke in the Little Red Shed with a nice scotch
Spend an indulgent culinary day sampling house-made wines , spirits and brews at Edgefield in Troutdale.
Order cocktails from Ryan in the Black Rabbit bar , he is the best bartender I have ever met
Great setting for senior pictures. Spring, Summer or Autumn
Love the cajun tater tots , and during the summer love the thai tots
Ask for the "Rubberhead," a mix of the Ruby and Hammerhead. Perfect on warm day.
Give 9 holes of golf a try! Bigger than put-put, smaller than your community par 3. Plus, you can drink beer !
Best burgers ever!!!
Not to be missed. A PDX must see.
Try their poor farm pinos gris white. It's from their own grapes grown right outside in their own vineyard !
Awesome rooms! Make love drink wine then watch movie .. Wake up go to spa play some golf then eat play some pool then watch a movie ..... Um awesome!
Check out McMenamins Pubs as seen on Rachael Ray - $40 a Day Read more
Take a bubble bath in the baths on the third floor, you'll love it!
Went to the winery and really enjoyed the music and ambiance.
Their beers are awesome!!! Cheap movies too.
This hotel is full of mysticism! Try it
Cool place to stay but expect the same McMenamins service as all of the other pubs
All the luxury of a hostel , but at the price of a much nicer hotel .
Vitamin awesome is served here at 3am.
There drinks ate best for money's worth grape nehi
The thing about being able to drink all over this huge property (where you are spending the night) is that you tend to spend all your money and get drunk.
No dogs is BS! Otherwise cool location, lackluster food, and ok beers .
Sweet potato fries ! They are a must.
what a place! what a history: used to be a 'poor farm ' turned into winery / vineyard , restaurant , bars , spa , hotel , golf course . check out pics: http://www.mcmenamins.com/54-edgefield-home
Watch your step coming out the door!
Cool place! Been there a couple times. I heard it was haunted :)
Horrible service everytime in the restaurants . But the spa is the best!
Always book your room a few weeks ahead to avoid being stuck without. Cheap enough to stay over and avoid drinking and driving.
Great wine and very cheap samples.
Fries like mom used to make. Delicious.
Hang in the rocking chairs for a while.
