Fox Theatre

Opened in 1928 as the flagship movie palace of the Fox Theatres chain, it was the first movie theater in the world designed to include a built in speaker system for films .

The Fox theater is one of the most spectacular places to visit that remains from old Detroit. Many Americans are unaware that Detroit was the Paris of America. When the auto industry died, so did it.

Last we went, John Oliver was doing a comedy act. My father and I receded only 30 feet away, one of the greatest things about this theater , is that all seating is quality.

If you have ADD you'll have lots to be distracted by during your show. It's ornate in an old world way, so you'll never see it all!

Take the tour , get backstage and check out all the old signatures. The illitches had part of the old wall removed but there are some awesome ones! Watch out for ghosts !
