At $40 for 10 piece sushi omakase , this place won my heart. Fish comes straight from Tsukiji fish market & is prepped to perfection. Eel don was just as amazing for those looking for a cooked meal.
Very reasonably priced lunch bento box specials. I had the chicken tonkatsu with miso soup , salad , rice , 2 dumplings , California roll - $12 before tax/tip. Complimentary tea .
Soba is filling and flavorful, with slices of duck and a bounty of veggies . Chirashi has great rice and a good portion of fish . Service was attentive and served dishes as courses <3
The atmosphere is more formal and spacious compared to competing sushi places on Flatbush. Friendly , great menu, and quality sushi . The special rolls were too expensive for me to bite.
More upscale vibes than the other sushi spots around, but I wish they didn’t sneak butterfish into their “deluxe” sushi platter
An elegant, simple, and delicious experience.
Peach roll is amazing! Such good service too! Everything was great.
The passion roll is excellent! Reminds me of Hawaii in the summer
All sushi . Good salad too and nice beer selection .
Special rolls are the best in the neighborhood <3
Amazing and affordable omakase .
Omakase menu and hot appetizers
Had omakase . Included butterfish . Nasty. 5 of the other pieces were bland or dry. Rice is under seasoned and then sauce on the scallop was overly sweet, ruining the scallop . Back to Taro next time.
Food and service was outstanding here.
Fantastic sushi. Get a prix fixe option and some starters and a dessert. Soba tea and hot sake are perfect on a cold night. - Ruthie Edwards
Omakase is excellent! Also don't miss the Toro tartare—tiny deliciousness served on crispy rice toast points. Yum - Brian Moore
Really can't go wrong with anything, but the marshmallow/rice crispy ice cream is out of this world. - Meg Farmer
Terrific concert venue and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms to boot. I’ll be back. - Will Harahan
They just added brunch and it's delicious. Fantastic scrambled eggs, morels and asparagus with crunchy bread in a ceramic bowl. Love the vintage/contemporary vibe of the space, too. - MidgeMadge D
