Get married here! Buy a normal admission ticket and head out to the gardens behind the Grand Trianon . Totally secluded and beautiful. Pack some wine , cheese , and speakers for your reception!
Though its a far walk from the main palace , be sure to visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet in her personal grounds. The small cottage town she had built to "play commoner" looks like a Disney movie scene.
Play a fun game called "How many NYC apartments could fit in this palace ?" This painting is larger than the first apt my wife and I lived in together.
Pro-tip: Buy a ticket for a guided tour (ie King’s apartments , entrance E) and pop into the palace after. Will avoid the long line (entrance A), and they will print your tickets for you.
One of the best palace in the world you should visit 💙 make sure to book your ticket online to avoid long wait queue ✨
A must see, in easy reach by RER from central Paris. Make sure to get the audio guide, you'll miss great background otherwise and the movies about the history of Versailles play audio through them.
It's a must visit master piece ! Specially the gardens and the fountains . Fountain shows are on Saturdays and Sunday's only till end of Oct. The line is forever long, worth to book a tour to skip line
its incredible!you need a lot of time to see all of it so go early in the morning you will find long queues to the entrances and to buy the tickets go directly to the machines so you will save up time
The first Sunday of the month is free-that means EVEN MORE people. It is one of the rare wonders of the world that is worth battling crowds for, but if you can: pay for it and go on a weekday.
The palace itself is lovely but the grounds are just as good or better. Bring your drivers license so you can rent a little golf cart and drive around. Audio guide is free and really neat.
The Palace of Versailles is the largest palace in the world, it has 2300 rooms and covers 5.56 hectares of floor space.
Grand and gorgeous. Humongous gardens and awesome hall of mirrors . Weekends have musical fountains . Bus 171 from Pont de Sévres (terminus station for M9) drops you just in front of castle .
Each room is just MORE than the previous one. Amazing place so give yourself loads of time to enjoy it. I would definitely recommend buying the skip queue ticket. 2 1/2 hours mid week in March!!!
DO NOT come on a Monday... Castle was closed! 😢 So we walked the entire Chanal (seriously) and it was wonderful. Will be back someday to see the inside but certainly the outiside is worth your while!
Take the time to go there it is amazing, but be there early because there are usually alot of tourists and you will wait in line for a while. The place is huge and there is a beautiful garden as well
A must visit! Breathtaking view , gardens and fountains ! Everything is incredible here♥️ worth the queue!
beautiful place and gardens but get an early train and try to avoid the huge queues under the sun/rain. Take at the train station food and water with you and be prepared for waiting time.
This would have to be my favorite place that I visited in the Ile de France area. The palace is enormous & full of history. You could spend an entire day or two here and not get bored. Have a picnic !
Incredible history. The palace was a bit tacky and depressing but the gardens were beautiful!! Other than that, it was a great experience being a part of French history.
Leave sufficient time to take a short , leisurely stroll thru the formal gardens designed by Le Notre. Topiary trees , fountains and bronze sculptures dot the garden with a Vista that stretches for 3km!
stunning!!! have to take a day trip if in Paris! so worth the visit! we didn’t see even half of it but will be back next time to see more!
Impressive place. Gardens obviously nicer in the summer. Antoinette's farm was my fave. Guided tours worth it to see more of the palace . Also afternoons are calmer, less crowded .
Very impressive and grand sight that's well worth travelling while in Paris. In winter gardens are less appealing. Crowds can be brutal at peak times, both waiting to get in and inside.
Palace of Versailles is one of the most famous and beautiful European palaces ever, and one of the most luxurious palaces in the world , you should visit it. You will enjoy seeing this treasure.
Entrance is free if you're an icomos member. It's breathtaking & must see, painting & gardens & interior😍all in one.it can be reach by a train few stops away from the Paris.
Even if you buy your tickets in advance you still have to make the line as everyone else. The Gardens are free, so I would suggest avoid paying the building on busy days and just enjoy outside
Worth the trip AND the line . Buy ticket online, get there early. Bring snacks/drink because the line is long (no getting around that) Wear comfy shoes . Spend all day here bc it's stunning.
This place is truly amazing. Every detail is so ornate. Good place to visit in the winter off-season although there are still some school groups to navigate around.
Of course chateau is unforgettable, amazing... But also look for the garden , specially Neptun fountain .
A must see in Paris the palace close on 6pm and the garden on 8:30 pm there are coffe shops there and u can enjoy ur visiting. The garden is a part of heaven
If you have some extra time during your trip in Paris, you have to spend a day in le Chateau de Versailles, to go back in time and see the most beautiful castle in Europe.
The palace and grounds are stunning but as a museum it leaves something to be desired. Also, everything they say about the lines and other tourists is true.
Make sure you rent a golf cart instead of going on the train ! Totally worth it. The golf cart has an automatic audio tour in English that syncs with wherever you are in the gardens .
Make sure you have a ticket before you get there. Also unless you are part of a private tour you will have to get in line . Be prepared to wait anywhere from one to two hours.
Order tickets online and show on your phone. Either do a tour or go straight to the gardens and Marie Antoinette's houses to skip the massively long line in. Palace is awesome but gardens r better.
Temporary exhibition in the palace gardens featuring the sculptural works by Korean artist Lee Ufan. Dotted around the gardens , since of the works have never been seen/exhibited before.
This palace is worth $2 billion in today's money! And you can go visit it during a stay in Paris. It's only 17km away!
its a must see ! it cost you 25 euros a day pass and if you want to go with the small train to make the tour of the gardens costs 7,5 euro the whole day .
I love it like Läckö Castle its so wonderful and lovely it smells 1600 century you Know 1300 rooms it was 2000 before 1789 go there and enjoy it fr.o.m. The bottom of your heart like me twice 19942009
This Sunday is the last day of the year where you can enjoy the Musical Fountains of Versailles - a mix of classical music , bubbles and ripples! Go this weekend - they wont be back until next March!
If yo have time, come for the whole day! You can spend several hour exploring each room or walking in the gardens . I love it, and I will come back again for sure! It is like a time travel...
Love the waiters . They are good with all services. Very good icecream and coffee
Palace and Park of Versailles are marked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don't forget to walk through the park , rent a boat, check the Trianon village , and other amazing things
Don’t forget to take the audio guide at the beginning , the stories for each room are amazing.
Words are lacking to describe this majestic palace , which is definitely a must-see when visiting Paris! We recommend you to go out of the main path and loose yourself in the huge Gardens :)
Visiting the palace part was a kind of torture because of the crowd. But trianon gardens ,especially the queen’s hamlet part was one of the wonders of the world i’ve witnessed by bare eyes.
The gardens of the palace are amazing.. make sure to rent your own buggy around the palace and do some boat riding in the grand canal
Absolutely stunning! This is by far one of the most beautiful and historically rich sites I’ve ever visited.
Amazing place, so huge I couldn't visit everything. Wear light clothes and comfortable shoes , have a bottle of water, a camera ready and enjoy!
Amazing place. It's very interesting (and sad to think) that no matter how many bloody revolutions there are, few find the way to take over the power and control the others politically and financially
The Hall of Mirrors was truly remarkable. Just amazing. - Maggie MacG
There is a lot of people around. If you want to take a good pic, get to the middle front. - Dazia Pineda
The gardens are the most beautiful... U can spend hours here... The pink marble is stunning !!! - Brian Toth
Take the RER from just south of Notre Dame straight to Versailles. See the main palace if you must, but don't miss Marie Antoinette's little getaway. Our reaction: We could totally live here. - Anders Sjöstedt
Une des pièces les plus intéressantes du château de Versailles. - Dany
Beautiful, impressive, magical gardens, many different paths, fountains, sculptures all around. Feeling like Alice in Wonderland here. Loved it. - Yordanka Mancheva
Don't miss the onion soup and the ravioli! They are simply the best! - Abhishek
