Awesome landmark in Boston. Cheap produce and meats. Need to understand that these represent produce neat the end of their sales life. So peak of ripeness means shorter shelf life, buy accordingly.
Great market to stock up on fruits and veggies , with way better prices than any supermarket . Sensible shoppers, come here. Also a great weekend experience
Best prices for produce and vegetables . Its awesome to get 8-10 Apples for $2 etc. That is if you can stomach some of the blatantly racist vendors. Luckily many vendors sell similar items so no prob..
amazingly cheap fruit and veggies , be careful with the berries though, they should be eaten within a day of buying! cash only . spent 9 dollars today and i left with tons of great stuff!
If you think that eating in Boston is expensive , think again! Amazing deals on fresh vegetables and fruits ! You can't spend more than $12... you will not be able to carry the bags!!!
Awesome bargains on produce! Make sure to go early in the day and shop around for the best deals.
Great prices. Hit and miss on quality but many many vendors from which to choose. Tasty strawberries from one vendor; mushy raspberries from another. Selling two for one at close of market .
Open-air fruit & vegetable market every Fri & Sat morning. Dates back to 1830. Cheap produce is acquired by vendors from wholesalers needing to make space for newer shipments. More info in blog.<LINK> Read more
These guys will sometimes haggle. Watch the scale that they don't play games. The older acerbic vendors can seem pushy and even intimidating, they are filled with hot air. Women prepare to be hit on.
There are a lot of the same things at different prices and qualities. Great place to fill the fridge but make sure you check before you buy
FYI- Most produce is NOT organic here. Many items can be purchased in better shape at Stop&Shop for same prices- it's NOT always a bargain!
We shop here every week for our fresh fruits and veggies ! Friday afternoons and early Saturday mornings are the best time to go.
Inside info: go at around 6:45 pm in the summers when the shops close. You get a better bargain
Super cheap fresh produce and fish , but goes off quickly so only buy for that day or the next.
Cash only , produce from Mexico, questionable freshness, but god damn do you get good deals .
An unknown tip is that some of the places validate parking for the nearby garage for up to 3 hours.
Some of us have been shopping here since we were graduate students (at Harvard, or wherever else). I still see my grad school friends there on Saturday afternoons.
I'm here every week- if your wear flip flops like any other time, watch where you step- there are cobble stones.
Really cheap produce from the same warehouses that supermarkets use (just a few days later)
The stands at the front charge more, but if you work your way toward the back, you'll likely find some incredible deals
Ridiculous deals on fresh fruits , vegetables and herbs every Friday and Saturday. Read more
The prices and the vendors are very appreciative.
Really cheap fruits and veggies on Fridays-Saturdays!!
Check the basement shops for fresh fish on Fridays and Saturdays! The quality of the veggies is better on Fridays, but the prices are better on Saturdays.
The deals can't be beat but go early for the best selection and to beat the attitudes & crowds.
Awesome deals especially at Harry's cheese store
Never mind laundry, purchase a half dozen oranges instead. : ) Where else can you find produce for mere pence?
Ask before you pick/taste test. The good vendors will be happy to let. Always check what you get!
So many options! Extremely cheap .
Bostonians have shopped here for two centuries. The alfresco Friday-Saturday scene is pretty no-frills – simple tents, vendors shouting loud – but the prices on produce can’t be beat.
Check out everywhere before buying. Prices vary
Not actually a farmer's market - mostly conventionally grown produce too close to expiration date to sell to a supermarket . Good deals if you use your haul fast though!
The guy across from the fish has the best produce.
Lady with loud voice on corner may not have the best deals!
Very cheap vegetables and fruits .
This is not a farmers market . It's a surplus market .
Fresh vege 's and fruits Friday & Saturdays for cheap !!! Just don't pick or you get sworn and chased away!
