Herald Square is a great place to sit, grab a cold water and take in the sights. We stopped in to Macy's-the largest department store in the world! Don't forget to stop in!
Outdoor bistro tables, by-the-hour bike rental stations, and gourmet coffee stands make people-watching the sport of choice at this multi-block streetfront gathering spot.
Despite being at a major intersection by Macy's and very busy, there is a surprisingly relaxed atmosphere in Herald Square.
at night, look up at bennett monument : the eyes of two bronze owls at the top glow eerie green every second or so. "la nuit porte conseil." (the night brings counsel.)
Named for the long-defunct newspaper, the NY Herald , if you’ve been to Macy’s on 34th Street, you’ve probably passed through the square without even knowing. Lots of train connections in the area.
So close to everything! Subway, shopping (Macy's and so much more), Koreatown, etc. They have a great outdoors food court during the summer worth checking out.
You've gotta visit Herald Square at least one time on a visit to NYC.
Great during Christmas season and in the summer sit down outside for a coffee and croisant
Just grab your lunch and have a seat in the middle of the square, enjoy waching the city feel which is my fave of all times...:)
Not really somewhere to make a point of visiting, but very pleasant to stop for a quick coffee and sit in the sun watching all the happenings
Great view of Empire States . Although its small size, I like this place.
Great Manhattan park for food or chilling.
Outdoor summer seating!! I love to people watch or just sit in the sun and relax while I ppl watch:))))
Where to find a shady spot to sit on 34th Street. Get great coffee at the 'wichcraft kiosk and hit up their happy hour coffee & tea specials (1/2 off every day 3-6pm). (via Scoville) Read more
Go to Macy’s or enjoy Wafels & Dinges at the Plaza . Great place for people watching .
My favorite thing here happens semi annually… And that would be Broadway bites the best thing in the world
This park is so dope! Clean , big, great view . So many other stores around there as well !!
Tourist central, but a great selection of national chain shops.

I Love going to Herald Square, they have Macy's & a Metropolis of other shops in the area & also the Fashion District is really close.
Can be just as busy as Times Square but it’s a tourist spot...waddaya expect?
Area with TONS of tourists , but probably because of the awesome area for shopping.
Lovely for walking and dog watching
Check out the pear trees in Herald and Greeley Square Parks now, they are blooming!
Dont miss the food court !
Perfect place to have lunch ... With the sounds of birds and the sunshine ! Beautiful
Touristy area of NYC, check out the Macy's window displays while you're here.
It's better now that they've created more pedestrian space but generally packed with tourists .
So many fun shops to check out! It's a bit overwhelming!
Try (not?) to photo bomb all the selfies. Errrybody wants their mug with the Empire State behind them.
Historic Square in the Heart of Manhattan #NYC2015
Best place in midtown to sit down and relax.
The monument clock moves at the hour. And the owls eyes light up at night.
The crapes and the vegetarian restaurant were my favorite
Quiet square with plenty of seating surrounded by a forest of trees .
Great place to sit and take a break! Plus there's free wifi !
Bring your camera...you will love what they've done to the place lol
So busy during the holidays.
The statue of the two men and the bell rings on the hour (at least it did at 8pm). The men hit the bell. Its pretty cool.
This is a nice clean area. Great place to get some shopping done!
Great shopping mecca, but also a wonderful haven in the midst of the city !
So many good food carts. Grab lunch and sit on any of the many green chairs.
Busy. Lots to look at. Much better since they shut down the traffic and made it a pedestrian walkway.
Great during the Christmas season !
They have a farmer's market on the weekend.
My second least favorite place to checkin besides Times Square. Oh the horror...
Never sit in the park area near the statues on hot days. Your sitting above the subway's exhaust grill
Lovey heart of NYC shopping district
Nice place for a coffee & pastry break
The park is a little windy oasis in the midst of the bustle n shopping
The Christmas Market is amazing. Fill with nice vendors and a lot of tasty food - and hot wine! - Julie L
Very cool & hip spot!! Great Bars and Coffee places to hang out. - Toya Coleman
Top of the rock view is definitely the best one in New York. Don't bother with the Empire State - Swemeatballs .
The kitchen equipment products were great. A lot of variety and many nice brands at good price! There is a sales section with great deals :) - Mireya
Always my favourite place to be when I am in NY. Love the dynamic. - Atika Al-Bimani
Great way to take in the whole city. We went on a Friday at 1pm and there was no line. Staff are very helpful and courteous. - Chad Curry
