Kaya toast . First bites were enjoyable; very aromatic homemade kaya . Halfway through, I felt “jelak” from the over-sweetness. I’m told they may mix condensed milk into their kaya recipe!
Order, pay & wait for ur buzzer to go off. When it gets busy, hang on to buzzer, as cafe uses it to summon u to collect individual items whenever they’re ready
Their menu offering. Three hero items: fried Hokkien mee , “har cheong kai” (fried prawn paste chicken wing ), & kaya butter toast
Tight & limited seating on level 2. Avoid coming during peak meal time; folks linger a bit after they r done as the place is quite chill
I’m going to give the kaya toast one more try after a morning run. Hokkien mee (which is very good) wok hei game strong so your clothes might smell.
“Har cheong kai” (fried prawn paste chicken , $12 for 4pcs). Will not order again. The colour alone put us off; it was orangey! Meat tasted like a normal fried chicken , missing the prawn aroma
Dishes associated with prawn . All are delicious. Their kaya toast is heaven. Must try even is bloated
Limited seating . And when it gets busy, overstretched staff don’t have time to clean up. So be prepared for some level of messiness
Fried Hokkien mee ($7). Avoid weekend mealtimes, as standards drop due to chaos. This Sunday plate was overly bitter, blanketing any prawn essence within
Using traditional bread , well-toasted & sliced in half. Place end up smelling smoky too, due to poor kitchen ventilation
Sitting within cafe , ur clothes will end up smelling of food & smoke. Extremely poor ventilation
SO. MUCH. TOAST .
Tandoori Corner great little Indian restaurant - Gulcin Cribb
Although the toast set is not that cheap, it's value for money due to the quality of eggs used. Nicely orange and toast are as good as competitors. Big mug of drink too! - MAC
They got self service ordering kiosks. Hainanese pork chop could be better with less onions. Clubhouse sandwich was huge and tasty. - Elizabeth Lee
Special menu - tenderloin pasta! Well-tossed, balanced taste, beef was good. Worth ordering. - Yarn Lam
