Go for for rocking cages, and try not to think about the fact that this thing is nearly 100 years old ;) The view to the ocean and Manhattan is stunning, so try for a golden hour/sunset ride.
There are two lines : one for swinging cars and one for stationary (which is often shorter). Whichever you chose, be sure to snap a pic from the top! Fun fact: The Wonder Wheel weighs 400,000 pounds.
there are a couple of photobooths inside coney island . one of the easiest to find is this one right in the middle of it all: next to the wonder wheel. (only open in the summer)
The Ferris wheel first opened in 1920, making it the oldest ride in Coney Island , and the spectacular views from the top take in a long stretch of the shoreline. Read more
Really nice park ! Family friendly , friendly staff and nice rides. Love this park . They even got Nathan's hotsogs ❤️
1918 steel makes this scarier than your standard ferris wheel . White cars don't swing (haha), and the views are great.
Highly (ahem!) recommend the outer wheel, stationary cars for the longest and highest view of the oceanside scene. Take a deep breath if your car stops at the peak, as it did on my ride w/a friend.
When you go all the way to the top you really get to see the real beauty of Coney Island
A great place to bring the kids after the aquarium . Lots of small child size rides - just buy a ticket for yourself and your child to ride.
Great family place for kids of all ages! Friday nights during the summer they have spectacular fireworks !
An absolutely thrilling Ferris wheel when riding in a swinging car . Caught me for a scare!
continue through the tunnel toward the beach to find the kiddie park with rides for younger kids
Ride the wheel. Doesn't matter how old or young you are--it's really fun and different than any ferris wheel you ever rode. It's a great memory!
The views from here are breathtaking!
Great views from the top, but you're swinging almost the whole time. HANG ON!
So slow, but where else have you ever seen Ferris wheel cars that actually slide back-and-forth independently on separate rails as they continue to go around the circle? Old-fashioned fun
Classic Coney Island ! $10 for two full spins. Great views .
The iconic Ferris wheel , the Wonder Wheel is shown at the beginningof the movie and the end of the movie the Warriors.
The view is incredible! A must see!
Make sure you get on one of the red or blue swinging cars for the full experience. The yellow cars are for the less adventurous.
What's not to love about this Ferris wheel ? Oh: it costs $7 to ride it now...
Go on a swinging car and take in the sights
Go swinging – it's an experience on a big wheel you'll have nowhere else.
Swinging car line moves way faster than stationary.
Seen at the beginning of the film , this is the landmark that the Warriors associate with being home.

Beautiful view !
OMG!! Best employees ever!!! Lost my phone here! Didn't realize it til after I left the park - about an hour later... long story short .. got my fone back the next morning.. on July 4th!!
Don't bother with the stationary cars . The swinging ones are where it's at.
Had tons of fun
Amazing and unforgettable
Opt for the swinging cars - they're pretty fun. Either way, you'll get some cool views from the top.
The swinging cars are TERRIFYINGly awesome.
Take the swinging one
10 year old and present day me love this ride!
Tallest ferris wheel in the world; opened Memorial Day 1920. Made official NYC landmark in 1989.
The swinging cars on the Wonder Wheel are awesome...

Best of the best for 4th of July
They've never had an accident... even though you might feel like you're about to go flying out of the swinging cars !
The swinging carriage is the better option.
Do not let the carnies hustle you. Games and rides overpriced, go to Luna Park instead.
Swinging cars or bust!
Watch Remo Williams before riding for full effect.
Choose Swinging . Always.
