Deno's Wonder Wheel

The Wonder Wheel has been in operation since 1920 & was designated a NYC Landmark in 1989. It is 150 ft tall, holds 160 passengers with 8 stationary cars & 16 cars that slide along serpentine tracks .

Go for for rocking cages, and try not to think about the fact that this thing is nearly 100 years old ;) The view to the ocean and Manhattan is stunning, so try for a golden hour/sunset ride.

There are two lines : one for swinging cars and one for stationary (which is often shorter). Whichever you chose, be sure to snap a pic from the top! Fun fact: The Wonder Wheel weighs 400,000 pounds.

there are a couple of photobooths inside coney island . one of the easiest to find is this one right in the middle of it all: next to the wonder wheel. (only open in the summer)

1918 steel makes this scarier than your standard ferris wheel . White cars don't swing (haha), and the views are great.

Highly (ahem!) recommend the outer wheel, stationary cars for the longest and highest view of the oceanside scene. Take a deep breath if your car stops at the peak, as it did on my ride w/a friend.

When you go all the way to the top you really get to see the real beauty of Coney Island

A great place to bring the kids after the aquarium . Lots of small child size rides - just buy a ticket for yourself and your child to ride.

Great family place for kids of all ages! Friday nights during the summer they have spectacular fireworks !

Ride the wheel. Doesn't matter how old or young you are--it's really fun and different than any ferris wheel you ever rode. It's a great memory!

The view is incredible! A must see!

Make sure you get on one of the red or blue swinging cars for the full experience. The yellow cars are for the less adventurous.

$7 to get on. I recommend getting on the swing one .

Go for the fixed (non-sliding) cars -- much better views .

OMG!! Best employees ever!!! Lost my phone here! Didn't realize it til after I left the park - about an hour later... long story short .. got my fone back the next morning.. on July 4th!!

Don't bother with the stationary cars . The swinging ones are where it's at.
