Aburi sushi is the way to go but if you are having sake or Japanese beer , make sure to ask for some fried fish senbe. It is quite a treat and it isn't even on the menu.
Focus on ordering aburi style sushi dishes which are torched variations of traditional sushi . They are very good at them, and you shouldn't distract yourself away from anything less.
Great food, service, and ambiance. My favourite was the aburicious , so delicious and does not have that gas flavor other places often have with blow-torched sushi . Would make this a regular spot.
Of all the sushi places I've been to, this is the first place to offer them blowtorched. Get the Aburicious if you want to try each kind. Salmon oshizuchi, Jabistroll & ika were the stars of the show.
Sushi and sashimi were quite fresh and tasty :) I think the place is pricey and it’s the first Japanese place that charged me for the green tea (I was surprised as I am a fan of Japanese cuisine).
This is where you go for good sushi in Toronto . You must try the Kyukyoko which is the chef 's choice. Also had salmon carpaccio , good, ika, good, JaBistroll , excellent. For dessert , Matcha puff, yum!
Delicious gem, a little off the beaten track . Everything was delicious, plus a great rooftop patio to boot.
One of my regular spots whenever I'm in town ! I crave for their aburicious blowtorch sushi all the time. Staff are very friendly , great food and service!
Sashimi sampler is a definite must! Chefs choice for sushi an JaBistro option were also great. Tried the miso soup but would probably skip it next time.
Try any of the blow torch sushis and they're bound to be good. Also gave the miso soup with lobster a try and it's actually pretty good!
Might be the best nigiri I've had in Toronto. $27 for 7 pieces is pricey , but worth it. Can't wait to try the kyukyoku
Delicious sampler sashimi platter and pressed rolls were outstanding!! The Sakura cocktail is also very tasty.
For a person who tried authentic Japanese food for the first time, I was instantly hooked. Excellent fresh ingredients , service and atmosphere.
Some of the best sushi I have had in my life. Perfectly edited and prepared menu. Do not hesitate.
First time? Great! Get the Sashimi Sampler and Aburicious and split then with a friend. This is the best way to get a sampling of what JaBistro has to offer. Enjoy!
Best sushi in Toronto . Excellent service from the chef . Definitely try to find a seat at the sushi bar . The waitstaff are so new and can use more experience.
The sashimi sampler is good but you don't get very thick pieces. All the aburi is tasty so pick your fish or get the sampler.
This is an aburi place mostly. They do an amazing job of it. The lobster miso soup , however, is pretty mediocre... Crab would do just as well .
Wagu beef is solid. And the kyukoku is a good way to start your order.
Aburi is a must. The chef 's choice kyukyoku is the way to go. And great sake choices from the bartender .
Food was great and the service was unbelievably fast. Try the green tea mousse .
I had lobster miso soup and the torch sushi sampler...simply the best sushi experience I've ever had
Blow torch sushi is awesome! Best sushi in Toronto . Fish melted in your mouth.
Best sushi in Toronto . Get the Abicurious and sashimi large platter. Blow torch sushi is incredible !
Just get the special and an order of the torched sushi .
Try Kyukyoko & Aburi @ bar . Selection was noticeably fresh as compared w other spots. Other platters looked cluttered and not as appealing, though I did not try them and have a pref for the simple.
The lobster sashimi platter is impressive. Toronto’s best aburi (blowtorched sushi ).
Aburi (blowtorched rolls) were ok. JaBistroll is the best / most interesting.
Fantastic sushi ! Take the chef 's choice and lobster platter. Bit expensive though...
Good patio upstairs on a nice sunny day! Reserve in advance
Excellent service . Tried the tasting menu and loved every bit, especially the grilled fish
I get the sashimi platter + aburi + nama every time :Q
Excellent food and service, lobster miso soup was amazing!
The southern style sushi is something you probably haven't had before. It's quite good!
There is a patio on the second floor, open during the summer time.
Fried calamari is amazing and best sushi in Toronto
Chef 's choice blow torch sushi is the oneeeee! Melt in your mouth awesomeness.
Best sushi .
Really really fresh sashimi and delicious and ample sized rolls
Chef 's choice. Trust and do not ask questions.
ochamame are so tasty! cold edamame + macha mmm
Definitely get the sampler platter for a good assortment of sashimi .
I want to order everything off the menu but my stomach can only hold so much food.
The blow-torched salmon nigiri is the bomb-diggety
Unbelievably tasty blowtorched sushi . That is all.
Sashimi , lobster miso soup
The sashimi was great but the blow torch sushi was incredible.
Sit at the bar and go Kyukyoku . So good, so fresh!
What's not good here?
This place is so damn good.
Small, cozy space with amazing sushi. Try the sashimi one lunch special, for a healthy & tasty lunch. - Santi Amaya
Great service and atmosphere. Best omakase in Toronto. Sit at sushi bar for even better experience - Joyce Lo
Japa Burger! Smoked Salmon! Octopus w/ seaweed! Oyster Wednesdays! - Jeremy Chen
Staff was helpful and very friendly. Theatre complex is big, clean and modern. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a movie. - Jordan Renaud
I got the red bean and matcha ice. I really liked it. Matcha flavour from top to bottom, unlike the ice drinks offered by the big franchises. I am coming back for sure. - Jason
