The Akihabara Plus store is just opposite to the Akihabara store but sells non food souvenirs, my favourite is the shirts made of kimono material

It’s tax free, but still more expensive than products with tax from Akihabara. Do your shopping in the city .

there's another similar shop next to Gate 81. probably very slightly lesser choice but has the usual suspects of japanese souvenirs and snacks ...minus the long queue. no queue at all
