At Favela, the Moqueca de Peixe is simmered with dende oil, green herbs, tomatoes and coconut milk and is served with pirão , a starchy side made with cassava flour, greasy pan drippings and pureed. Read more
Favela offers a greatest hits of Brazilian cuisine-maybe you won't need to go to Newark's Ironbound anymore. You can't beat Favela for bar snacks , either: Pick the carne de sol Read more

Great vibes during their live (guitar acoustic and solo vocals) music nights.... get the beef ribs and dulce mousse ! Their churassco skewers looked unbelievably tempting!
Best Brazilian food around the area!!! Worth the drive. Amazing authentic dishes and friendly staff ! Highly recommended!!
The Strogonoff de Frango is a very nice Brazilian take on a traditionally Russian dish! Slightly sweeter and creamier that other versions I've had.
My group ate "carne seca com aipim", "bolinhos de aipim com queijo", "queijo empanado" and they loved it! For entrees, "stroganoff de frango " "picanha", "Caldo verde", ALL AWESOME!!!
Food was amazing. Perfect amount of flavor and the blacks beans , better then any cuban place I have ever been to ????.
Conquer and destroy... Nothing was left... The rice and beans were great, the same goes for the Farofa! And for dessert , "bolo de banana flambado"... WOW!!!! Definitely coming back!
The best! Get the misto 3. It's so good. I can't get enough of this place.
Get one of the mistos . Beware though, it's a lot of meat. We always go home with leftovers. Totally worth it though!
They brought Coxinha de frango (chicken ), Risoles de camarao (shrimp ), Pastel de carne (ground beef ), Bolinho de bacalhau (cod fish and potato ) and Caipirinhas to Choice Eats
Nom Nom... Can't go wrong with authentic Brazilian cooking as my native Brazilian friends say about this place
Meh, I expected more. The salmon had a fishy aftertaste. The chicken soup was salty, and the stroganoff was too sweet/overly sauced. Strangely, what I liked the most, was the chimichurri sauce .
Bangingggggg steak , sausage and beef hip wrapped in bacon . Rice and beans delicious too.
Excellent food and great caipirinhas ! Happy hour M-F 5-7 and they are only $5. ????????
Pretty good place. Nice selection, the meat use really good and the desserts awesome
Get the stroganoff and the Miqueas de peixe con pirao . Honestly the BEST Brazilian food in NYC.
So much good food to choose from. You can't go wrong with anything here. I suggest any of the Misto options.
The decoration is a little old, but the food is very good, very authentic . Try moqueca and picanha.
Nice little spot in Astoria. Check it out. Had lunch there. Principle plates are great!
Great little place! Ambiance is cozy and the food is good!
Very good food! I read some reviews saying they went there and felt like home, and I have to agree!
Love the steaks , caipirinhas and the live music .
Caipirinhas to die for! And of course meat.
good meat, good rice , good beans.....love the farofa!!!
Great Caipirinha #live music on weekend
Their shrimp appetizer ????
Amazing everything! Great music , awesome ambience, food is super scrumptious 8)
Really good Brazilian food . The waiters are too laid back though.
Phenomenal Feijoada and great service
Amazing food, drinks and service
Amazing evenings.
Everything's good there food, drinks, and service!
Skirt steak with chimichurri and caipirinhas , so good
Everything!
Everything
Took mom here for Mother's Day, the service was horrible. The waiter (not w/ braces) was so rude. Purposely didn't bring me water but brought to the table who didn't ask for it! Only part of it!
I heard that the food there is great ..... i cant wait to try it
Dried beef with yuca
Great fish stew
Best coxinhas I've ever had!
Heaven-sent Stroganoff
Eat meat grow bigger!
The food has gotten a lot worse. It's a shame, but wouldn't recommend it anymore.
The Caipirinha is a must. Good Stuff!!!!!
Try the Feijoada And Moqueca
Great food. Try the steak
Extremely poor service even though it was mostly empty. Food was great though.
Get the rice & beans- and the flank steak is my favorite cut of beef there by far - Laura Sorensen
We loved everything. From the pictured entree's to the caramel flan. The caprinhas were strong. I had regular and guava. They are not cheap with the alcohol. Wow. Loved it all and plan to comeback - ᴡ Montilla
Delicious, authentic Brazilian self-service food. Inexpensive and great staff. Really recommend it! - Gabriel M.
This place is a hidden jewel. Great happy hour and the food is amazing! Try the hummus and the feta fries. Delicious! - Kaja Chojnowska
Try the Kielbasa - With sauerkraut, fries, pickles, and white rye bread. It was *delicious*. - Julie F
Has some of the best cocktails in Astoria, and their kale Cobb salad is delicious. Good whisky selection. - Morgan Polotan
