Truly excellent, carefully thought out and attractively executed dishes here. Attractive crowd, mix of young professionals and older commuters. Killer cocktails and good wine list , too.
Drinks: delicious! Food: amazing! Ambience: comfy and/or romantic ! Staff : accommodating! If you love seafood , especially oysters , YOU MUST come here. Great for Date Night !
This is one of the best restaurants in CT. Every dish is a winner. Don't miss salt and pepper squid , fried oyster deviled eggs , and squid ink cavatelli .
Deviled eggs , Normans lobster butter and desserts great.service ok. Pork collar was terrible...hard to eat, fatty and no flavor. Not the dish to be adventurous with...cocktails are awesome
I used to live in Boston and this is the only seafood place in CT that hits the same way as what was available to me. Excellent dishes, oysters , and food.
Great place to dates. You should try the chicken sandwich and Dry aged burger . They are juicy and perfect. They have good oyster options.
The oysters are great. The crudo and grilled octopus are solid as well . The best dish if you want to splurge is "Normans Lobster Butter ".
Roasted oysters and seasonal salads are TO DIE for. Also, any type of oysters are great as they come from Copps Island Oysters .
Try the Warm Peeky Toe Crab Fondue , Served On Grits , Mixed With Sea Urchin , Wasabi Roe . Fried Onions . - Really? This good? Oh yeah. I can see why the chef is an award winner.
TT: The Whelk is the newest restaurant from chef Bill Taibe of the renowned Le Farm . Stop in for whole griddled head-on shrimp and warm Peekytoe crab fondue
good spot. the happy hour is a good deal : $7 old fashioned variant that normally costs $14; $5 HUGE (huge) pile of old bay fries
Everything is good here. Try the drink with bacon bourbon and egg whites , it's like a breakfast sandwich drink, and it's delicious
Place your name with the bartender for bar seating . Menu selection changes so worth multiple visits. The oysters and scallop crudo are never a disappointment. Cons: paper placemats. Stemless glasses.
Great selection of raw oysters , delicious bbq clams , and try the fish sticks
The deviled eggs are incredible. I know it's a seafood place, but you have to try the burgers .
On a busy weeknight, try and snag a reservation-free communal outdoor table by the water - and order the corn rice pudding for dessert .
Everything is delicious. A little expensive , but definitely a fantastic option
Skip the crab fondue for something else fun on the menu. Deviled eggs with fried oysters are delicious!
Fantastic. Everything we had was amazing.
Loud ... 60 out if 100 seats force people to the inhospitable discomfort of THE most uncomfortable stools EVER created... that said, the food is amazing.
Get there early and have a drink on the porch while you wait for your table.
Oysters and rose ????
All the seafood is good and fresh.
Make reservations up to four weeks in advance to avoid the wait list.
The cornmeal fried oysters with garlic greens are phenomenal.
Fried Chicken sandwich may not jump out at you, but its AMAZING!
