Home of the Singapore Sling, the earthy decor of this two-storey bar was inspired by the Malayan plantations of the 1920s. In addition to almost every alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions imaginable, the bar also serves traditional pub favourites that are available as a meal or snacks.

The Singapore Sling was first created in 1915 by Raffles bartender Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese-Chinese. He deliberately chose to give the cocktail a rosy colour, meant for ladies. Source: Hotel
Singapore Sling recipe: Gin 30ml, Cherry Brandy 15ml, Benedictine DOM 7.5ml, Cointreau 7.5ml, Pineapple Juice 120ml, Lime Juice 15ml, dash of Angostura Bitters , Grenadine 10ml. Source: Raffles Hotel
Iconic bar inside the Raffles Hotel . Cocktails are good but maybe not worth their US $27 price tags! Original Singapore Sling was good but the Golden Milk Punch was even better!
Regular pax on Singapore Airlines would appreciate the Long Bar can make you a customised Silver Kris Sling: a delicious mix of gin , Cointreau , orange juice and pineapple juice , topped with champagne .
A ‘must do’ in Singapore - visit the birth place of the Singapore Sling! It’s expensive , but if you just go for one drink it’s a fun thing to do. We arrived at 6pm to a short 15min queue
Singapore Sling started here! The bar is in the amazing Raffles hotel . Definitely should come here for a late night drink. Daytime will be too hot to sit in open place.
Singapore Sling of course. Try once and that's all you need in your life. They do have unlimited peanuts so you can stay as long as you want. There is often a queue in tourist season.
Must try the singapore sling. Feel the british sense environment and the romance in the air. I didn't try the food. Hope other recommend the best dish.
Expats and tourists galore. The Singapore Sling might have been invented here, but what they serve today ($30) is a pale stand in made with pre-mixed ingredients.
An old bar with classy vintage design, good music and the most important, their signature original Singapore Sling . If you are underage or don't want alcohol , try their Virgin Sling.
I tried the Golden Milk Punch , thought it was very well made. We also tried the Singapore Sling, it is a classic. You should try it!
I love coming here for their band, great singing and entertainment. The Singapore sling, on the other hand, is a tad too sweet for my liking, all premixed these days.
Go early. Long queues for a very expensive drink. No atmosphere and the stay don't seem to enjoy their job. It's simply a cash grab now. We were there 10 years ago and the vibe then was so much better
Get the original Singapore sling here and throw peanut shells on the floor without guilt. A rare luxury in Singapore!
It's OK to be once in a legendary bar for visitors, getting the vibe& checking inbutNot a place to drink& chill outAnd all drinks are very expensive
10% service charge and 7% of GST makes one Singapore Sling $36.5. Is it worth it? Only if you're a tourist Yes!
They sell 1000 Singapore Sling per day and it is also a lot of alcohol in it, so make no mistake ;) Is it touristic , YES, is it worth going, yes, at least so you can check it off the list.
Those with peanut allergies... stay away fron this place! For the sake of your mortal life! :) Peanuts are everywhere! Even on the floor and steps of the staircase leading to the bar ...
Like others before me have said the Singapore Sling is so not worth the outlandish $26 price tag. But if you feel you must, order it with Hendrick's.
Please be careful while walking. You might slipped on peanut shell ????
Long line at the entrance. If you just wanna visit without drinking, just skip it.
Between the original and the special Sling, i prefer the original. Historically it is a ladies' drink though. Hmm...
You have to get a Singapore Sling, if course!
The Singapore sling generally tastes like cough syrup . Strangely, I don't care where it originated, the ones served on Singapore air are much better than raffles.
This bar is a cash machine with a lot of history
Although it's THE place to get a Singapore Sling, the drinks are mediocre at best. Not worth the money given that there are MUCH better (and cheaper) bars . Good ambiance but it's a tourist trap
Classic Singapore sling ???? a to-do-list in Singapore.
Very touristy and expensive at 40 dollars for a sling
Their service charge is very high so just bear that in mind
Let's try Tiger half yard ;)
Awesome! A place to be in Singapore!
As a resident it was brilliant as I didn’t need to queue
Go early, there is always a queue.
Massive tourist trap. No one drinks Singapore slings. Plus this one is a premix
Super touristy but ya gotta do it. Have a Singapore Sling, throw some peanuts on the floor and never come back????. Bonus: take an uber black to the front entrance of the hotel and roll in like a boss????
Don't drink Singapore sling otherwise you'll look like a tourist . They sell 1000 a day at $25 a time
Having a Singapore Sling where it was created.
Cool vibe, but super overpriced.
Home of the Singapore Sling. May be overpriced, but still a great old vibe. Husk your own peanuts , sip the tropical cocktail , and imagine it's 100 years ago.
If I was a pigeon - I would live here.
A sling, naturally. #Cheers
Overpriced? Yes. But you have to do it! It is an amazing atmosphere of the past. Plus I was lucky to hear the live music upstair, not sure if they play everyday. A definite must do!
Get your Singapore Sling so you can say you had one and move on to so many other cooler and cheaper places to drink. A classy hotel , though. Worth seeing.
If you want to taste Singapore Sling prepare quite money
Celebrating 100 years of the Singapore Sling. A "must do once" Singapore experience. Do you know why the Singapore Sling was created?
Other than the Singapore sling, their peanuts is also a must try as you can simply throw the shell on the floor !
Agree with all the below. Singapure sling shouldnot be considered a cocktail . Disappointing bar
Drink the original Singapore sling and eat peanuts from the bag. Not cheap (S$31 + tax and service), but it must be done!
The famous Singapore sling kinda tastes like cough syrup .
Outrageously bad service even by Singapore's low standards. Considering this is a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices ($32 drinks) it's even more difficult to swallow.
Unfortunately the standard has dropped recently. They burned the crepes and the ingredients that goes into the crepes have been so little. Coffee is still good, food wise…they have compromised. - B&B
Love their concept store in Taipei. Happy that they are available in Sg. Best Taiwanese style pineapple tarts. They are so confident of their product that the taster is one whole piece of tart w/ tea. - Ting
Great Ambience; great hang out spot for the locals and for visitors of Singapore. Approach their friendly staff to know what’s good! Try their Kopi Shake! - tallblueasian
Very elegant and well preserved hotel. And the Architecture is just breathtaking! A must stop by... - Abby Lahoylahoy
New dining experience at Watami (Japanese Cuisine). Must try: Watami salad (10 types of veggies with tuna mayo), Kani & Hotate cream croquette (breaded balls of crab & scallop in creamy sauce). - Raffles City Shopping Centre, Singapore
Used to be a convent school, cloistered and closed to the public, now it’s refurbished into F&Bs plus a charming chapel frequently used for wedding functions. Worth a visit when in city hall area. - Ting
