The Café Moscow was built between 1961-64 as a restaurant. Striking first is its transparency, which has been achieved through an open atrium design. The Sputnik (original size) at the roof was a gift of the Ambassador of the USSR.
Karl-Marx-Allee 34 (Schillingstr.) 10178 Berlin Germany
Wi-Fi | Yes |
The Spunik on the roof, a gift at the opening from the Ambassador of the USSR, has the original size of the first artificial satellite to go into orbit, launched 4 October 1957.
The entrance adorns a 9×15m mosaic entiteled "Aus dem Leben der Völker der Sowjetunion" (The Life of the People of the Soviet Union),1964, by Bert Heller.
This should be renamed to Café Kyiv.
