I would advise that come Ikea during a weekday AND also have what you want in mind already so you just pick it up at the lower level. Otherwise you WILL be stuck there 3 hrs or more.

Love IKEA. It’s good for some time killing even if you’re not going to buy furniture . Lots to look at and see, and not to mention the meatballs at the restaurant on the 3rd floor!

What can I say but the best human trap ever. These stores are specifically designed to frustrate those who want to be in and out and on to home installing their stuff.

Make sure to grab a map so you don't get lost. Look at the prices closely some are family members pricing. Don't forget to check the checkout area for other goodies.

Just when you think you've seen all there is in the world of retail . IKEA is incredible, I felt like I was walking through an Epcot exhibit for affordable interior design . Way to go Swedes!

This IKEA is laid out in sensible rings instead of the incredibly confusing mazes some of them are set up in. Nice folks in the delivery department. Mmm lingonberry juice .

I love the cafe upstairs. New menu item Vegetable Balls topped with Quinoa chili and a side of veggies . So healthy and tasty...

Be sure to order a slice of the Chocolate Almond Wafer Cake . You can also buy the full version downstairs past the cash registers.

Smalland is a complimentary day care center in case you want to shop in peace and quiet . The decor is IKEA and the caregivers lead games! Neat!

Write down the numbers for everything you want (it's easier than writing it on your phone if you grab one of their paper slips and golf pencils). Bags are 10 or 50¢ - not free.

Very poor shopping experience. When you leave the store you need to carry your purchases or abandon them while getting your car because they put barriers so you can’t use trolleys outside! WTF.

Bolingbrook store is laid out better than this store. It's worth getting there right at opening if you want to avoid lines and crowds on the weekend. Even better...take a 1/2 day off work...

Sign up for family ikea. It's free and my son loves being able to go Smaland while we grab a free cup of coffee and browse around

If you want to get a soda while you browse, get it on the first floor. Second floor dining does not have to-go cups.

If you are planning to have your purchases delivered, stop by the delivery counter BEFORE you shop to get an estimate. The cashiers do not have delivery pricing or info.

Walk around the inside circle to get from one area of another to avoid all the lolligaggers.

They have this dumb policy of not allowing carts in the parking lot , so don't go alone if you have a lot of stuff to bring to your car

They have great, inexpensive breakfast . Lunch and dinner are really good too.

If you can hold off then don't go on a Sunday, the place is jammed packed.

Better service and faster checkouts than Bolingbrook ! $59 delivery downtown and $40 for them to pick out everything. Worth it.
