Balboa Island

I highly recommend checking out Balboa Island if you haven’t been before because it’s very unique - the cute boutique shops , the signature frozen bananas , the little ferry across Newport Harbor ...

My family rented a vacation home here over the holidays & we all loved it so much! There's such a cozy ,quaint feel, everyone is so friendly & things just seem to move at a slower pace (“island time”).

If you are visiting Newport Beach, you have to stop and visit Balboa Island. Lots of cool little shops and restaurants as well as a fun place to watch the activity in the marina .

Italian restaurant Ciao has great food and a really friendly staff . I recommend the raspberry and feta salad as a starter. Very unusual combo but delicious. The salsiccia calzone is also very good.

Love love love balboa island. It's so adorable and I'm so glad it's only 5-10 minutes from my house in Costa Mesa so I can go here all the time especially when the tourists leave

Best Christmas lights in OC. Almost everyone decorates their homes & there are even a few light shows every 15 min. (526 S. Bay Front & 327 Sapphire Ave.) where the lights are coordinated with music .

This is one of the moat beautiful places in the world. Take the time to browse and enjoy. I'm so fortunate to live so close. Get your exercise while here-walk around the island !

#BalboaIsland is a must see if you're in the Southern California/Los Angeles area. Great walking and sight seeing!

Great place for a walk and picnic on the beach . Be sure to enjoy a classic frozen banana !!

Wonderful houses, beautiful gardens (my favorite part!!), and a great street to visit.

Go to Hershey's Market - Great deli sandwiches . Check out their gourmet selections and native local products like Daddy Cakes & Rusty's potato chips

Really fun to kayak or boat around in the harbor . But watch out, there's a lot of money there and although someone has a huge yacht many people don't know the first thing about boating.

Best Chocolate covered banana ! But if you don't care for banana , next must have us the Famous Balboa Bar ! ENJOY :)

Great spot to sail , kayak , enjoy the scenery, take a boat ride , and of course eat a Balboa Bar .

Lived here for several yrs. Cept for small homes close to each other its Paradise on earth. May live there again some day soon.

Take a walk down to the crazy guys monster house on the corner of Grand Canal and the Bay and key your kids climb on the rocks and catch sand crabs !

Getting a hair cut with Al at Maryam's Salon. The best deal in town for any guy. Great Haircut . Great price

This is a great time of year to walk around and view the elaborate Halloween decorations!

Fun to take the ferry over and walk downtown.

Ferry is open till 2am on the weekends and open 24 hours during the summer. Great option to get to the bars on the peninsula!

Love to walk around Balboa, everyone is so friendly and there's always a great bunch of beautiful dogs to pet :)

Try to park in the residential zones. The shopping area is way too crowded
