A place to go with friends/family who come to visit the city . It serves zurich's best special dishes. Decoration is a great. FYI, the meaning of the restaurant is the arsenal, so don't be surprise!
Here is one of the most traditional swiss restaurant to taste simple but good food from Zurich area like this Neuburg sausage with local potato salad ! And some chestnut vermicelle for dessert . Enjoy!
Perfect place for tourist . You may see a lot of cultural food of the German part of Switzerland. Try the Cordon Bleu (house famous). Local beer awesome. Price is very fair .
Don’t miss out on the famous Zürcher Geschnetzeltes ! Swiss food , traditional style ! Beer & dessert were great! Great service, gentle/available waiters ,professionals. A delightful experience!
Typical Swiss restaurant . Looks messy to get a sit, but totally worth the wait! Service is incredible. Try the Swiss Bratwurst and the Wiener Schnitzel ! Highly recommended.
I was suggested to go here by the guy on the hotel reception. And I liked this place. Tasty food and good service . If you want to try traditional Swiss food , than this place is MustVisit
Really enjoyed my "Züricher geschnetzeltes" with Rösti . As a sauce lover I really liked that they served plenty of extra sauce on the side. Off menu chocolate cake was great too.
Can be a bit pricey for people visiting with a less strong coin (like myself), but it serves traditional Zurich food, have their own beer , and the staff is really nice!
Loved the Kalbsgeschnetzeltes Bach Zürcher. Also liked the Wiedkerli! Note: if you make a reservation for 2, highly likely you’ll be paired with strangers.
Go for the haxn. The meat falls off the bone and the potato salad is perfect! Service is super friendly too despite it being packed. ????????????????
You must try the zurich veal . it’s however strangely reminiscent of sous-vide factory cooked veal blanquettes in montmartre, paris.. so far for authenticity
It is a "must" see and eat place in Zurich if you are a local or on vacation. I've been there twice and the food is typical Swiss with great service, but make sure you you make reservations
Fantastic simple traditional Swiss food . Try the sausage party with potato salad or rosti . Can't go wrong. Tons of history behind the building too!
My local friends says it is a "touristic trap", but The building is older than my country , The food is Very good, and The place is always fool (needs reservation often).
Get a massive beer and any sort of sausage . Also the weinerschnitzle if you can fit it all in. (They also have a beer that they set on fire.)
Absolutely amazing traditional Swiss food . One whole page in the menu is dedicated to Wurst (sausages ) only. They all come with potato salad , but you can ask for a replacement -- try Sauerkraut !
Great place to dine al fresco on a warm evening, watching the foot traffic on Bahnhofstrasse. House beer was good. The veal liver tasted like liver , nice to try but won’t have again.
Very touristic but still surprisingly very good for a classic sausage (lot of choice) and sauerkraut or potato salad . Also works non stop between lunch and dinner time during the weekend
Good place to gain 10lbs. Swallow your pride and ask for an English menu - it's giant and there are many different types of sausage . Tables are communal!
Anything is great, but do check the sausage menu out, specially the "mayor's sword" (1m long sausage ). Great house beer , and all-around great atmosphere and food.
Swiss food in a tourist-friendly environment. (I don't mean that in a negative way either; sometimes when you've been travelling a while, it's nice to know exactly what you are ordering from a menu!)
Potato salad is awesome! Nice terrace , nice ambience, pretty good local food & great beer in the city center.
Book a table! Always crowded ! Try traditional dishes with local beer ! Menues in Chinese available.
You will likely get paired with another party to fill up the table. That said - we still enjoyed our meal and beer !
the zöri gschnätzlets with Rösti is greaaaaaaaaaat... It was crowded but the service was quicker than what anyone can imagine... This restaurant worth 5 stars for that... You won't regret it
Very authentic , I call it the "Hofbräuhaus" of Zürich! Try the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes , their showcase dish, they even have a beer sommelier
#62 spicy sausage . Swap out the potato salad for the rosti and get a side of kraut . Wash down with some German wheat beer and you're good to go
A fantastic place to feel and eat the Swiss food . Bratwurst , rosti , soups ... Delicious. Friendly workers and menu available in English, Spanish,Chinese,Italian...
Loud , but cozy . I would recomend the seasonal food . If you are with a large group you would do smart in making a reservation . Traditional food and ok beer .
Food os great, both indoor and outdoor tables are nice (inside you have all this old machine guns and so on) and service is friendly
Perfect shank! Meat only selections with traditional Swiss recipes. Huge place with big chances to find a table without booking .
Great food, cosy place and very popular. You should make a reservation before you go, it is quite difficult to get a table without reservation .
Great place to enjoy a traditional Swiss menu as well as a large variety of local and imported draft beer, in a former armoury!
Pan fried veal , potato roti and beer ! They accept reservations and are always full, but in 10 min max you can get a table
Hands down favourite restaurant in Zurich. Best potatoe salad in any German speaking country . Also the Zurich Special is to die for!
Good beer ???? delicious sausages and nice staff !! The potato salad is amazing ????
Good beer and food. The Pork Shank was good and so was the Mayor's Sword
Make sure to reserve at least 1 day in advance. Great for typical Swiss cuisine.
Great traditional Swiss food ! Have the Kalbsschnitzel mit rosti . Very traditional interior and tables outside to enjoy the spring and summer. Kind service !
It may very well be a tourist trap, but if ask for the right food the experience can be delightful. The Luzerner Lebkuchen is a remarkable dessert !
We tried the sausages and the were quiet good. Swiss prices at around 30CHF for main dishes and some sausages around 20CHF.
Very good, authentic , no-frills Swiss food . Recommended. Somewhat pricey .
If you want traditional food and you like your sausage this is the place to come, sausage by the metre. Sit in the old ammunitions factory alongside other guests on long long tables, lively , noisy .
Great option around downtown. Schnitzel and sausages are nice and price is okay for Swiss standards. Kids friendly .
It’s crowded . You should book a table in advance. Staff is really nice. Food and beed are delicious.
Pork shanks were very tasty! The sausages (mixed platter) were disappointing though. Accompanying Rösti was ok. Ambience is quite interesting and service was very friendly .
Try the Zurcher (veal and gravy with mushrooms and a potato Rosti )
Massive armory converted to beer hall. Pricey food and beer , but reliable Swiss food and definitely where I'd take a tourist . ????????????
Good traditional place . Beer is tasty, meat with potato pancake with mushrooms aside is fantastic.
Dishes were quite good, the sausage tasted great, salad was well seasoned. Lovely authentic place.
Wonderful location and decor. I ordered the Kelbsbratwurst mit Rosti and it is very good. Always busy as it’s in the middle of Aldstadt on Niedorfstrasse - edisonv ????
Awesome authentic Swiss food. Very tasty sausage and cheese salad (Wurst und Käse Salat). Fair prices! - Lorenz Klopfenstein
Something for everyone, great for short notice meet ups with friends. Cool interior adapted from stables, Summer also has a nice outside courtyard - Hemera Beretta
Chocolate & cake heaven! Try the little macaroons, the flavours are very good! - Stephen ????????????????????????????????????????????
At Sprüngli also try the Truffle-Brioche with chocolate. Also a must is the truffles chocolate cake that come in two sizes. Yours to choose! - Thomas
