It just doesn't get better than Salt & Straw and I'm an ice cream snob. Try the Strawberry Honey Balsamic, the Oregon Rocky Road , or the Sea Salt with Caramel . You can't go wrong with anything!

Natalia Yugrinova

The best ice cream with very authentic flavors. You can ask a sample of each and every of them. Few, but very delicious options for vegans (peach cobbler is a must try) are available as well

Janine Duffy

The best I've cream I have ever had. There are always weird and somehow delicious flavors like Bone Marrow & Smoked Cherry . My favorite is the Coffee & Bourbon . Honey Lavender is a very close second.

Dave Hendrix

Unique & awesome ice cream flavors and fresh waffle cones . You'll probably spend more time finding parking than you will waiting in line . The queue can be long, but moves quickly and staff are fast.

Isaac

Amazing ice cream . I had the one with lucky charms and it was fantastic. Line was out the door and down the street on a rainy, cold Monday night, so plan for a big wait.

Jensen Lugo

May Flowers ! If looking for something refreshing from the heat, try the Wasabi Flowers & Green Apple Sorbet It uses wasabi FLOWERS, not the actual wasabi , so it is not spicy , but amazingly refreshing.

Stuart Coates

While I don't recommend you abuse the power, they'll let you try every flavor on the menu. They deserve a big tip for that. Live on the edge and get something new. My go to is olive oil .

Katie Hilyer Hollister

New limited edition flavors each month. Feel free to try them all before you order & drop your spoon down the chute in the counter! 17% butterfat is where it's at!

For the perfect treat, get their cinnamon snickerdoodle ice cream , made with Red Ape Cinnamon from Eugene and homemade snickerdoodle cookies . Read more

Brook Shelley

Try the vegan ice cream . It rules. I can't do milk , but I'm also amused by the very stoner-centric special flavors of ice cream they have too - like breakfast cereal.

Fodor's Travel

Limited-edition ice cream flavors from “rescued food,” drawing attention to how 40% of our food supply in the United States goes into the trash. Try the spent brewer’s malts and candied bacon s’mores. Read more

Roniel Tessler

surprisingly, as good as I expected. The White Toast Apple Butter and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle were perfect. Plus our incredible server treated us as a welcome to Portland ????

Julia Asakawa

Worth the wait in the queue! Unusual flavours and very big ice cream ! Definitely need to try in the home made waffle cone

Erin G

AMAZING ice cream . Worth waiting in line (which goes fast). I chose with the Goat Cheese w/ Marionberry Habaneo and Snickerdoodle . YUM.

Justin Jackson

The best ice cream I've had in my life. Be sure to ask for 2-3 samples so you can pick your favorite before you buy.

John Khuu

Expect insane lines just for ice cream at any given time of day/weather. Definitely worth the wait since it's extremely delicious.

Hillary Burkhardt

Sea salt with caramel and chocolate gooey brownie ice creams on a homemade waffle cone , you won't be disappointed

Ebrahim Bandookwala

The rose and pistachio (seasonal) and the strawberry balsamic and black pepper , look out for the seasonal menu in the right door.

Maya D

First time here - extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff . We tried a number of flavors and weren’t hurried in the least. Ended up getting the almond brittle - yum!

drew tarvin

Creative ice cream flavors with seasonal options. Feel free try as many flavors as you want.

Jeff Weinstein

A scene at night, prepare to wait but it was pretty tasty. The meat flavors aren't as good as they sound but the coffee and vanilla based ones were off the hook.

Mike Bodge

ICE CREAM . Try a taste of anything weird they have on the menu but get a cone of something more straight forward.

Henry Kim

Probably the least crowded Salt & Straw in Portland. Trying out new season's flavored are always fun!

Brook Shelley

There's usually a couple pretty solid vegan/dairy-free flavors but the waffle cone has a little dairy (they usually warn you too :D )

Rachel Grahn

Honey lavender is as delicious as it is beautiful. Split scoop with strawberry rhubarb pie is perfection.

Mahesh Asolkar

If you are just buying pints, you don't have to wait in the line . Grab your pints from the freezer and take them to the cashier .

Jay Thomas

Everything is great here. The strawberry , balsamic vinegar & black pepper is amazing and the one with olive oil is a standout.

Lauren

Holy moly, the pot of gold with rainbows was so tasty- lucky charms in the form of ice cream ? Yes please!

Jassim Ahmad

The best ice cream I have ever had. That's coming from someone who eats ice cream daily!

Roz Thomas

Creamy, loveliness with unique flavour combos. Try the strawberry balsamic one.

Dennis Pang

Go after 11pm once the lines die down. Stumptown Coffee and Burnside Bourbon ice cream FTW

Olivia Black

My fav is the Strawberry Balsamic. Unique flavors with monthly rotating menus.

Matthew Klinkovsky

Strange taste combos but really tasty! Don't let your fear of "odd" taste combos in your ice cream scare you off.... Go go the gusto!

Hob Nocker

Upbeat atmosphere, friendly staff , and the store is efficient at managing the large number of customers

Adam Hickey

Try four flavors in a flight for only $9! Great way to sample.

Margherita B.

Yeah, this place is good. Amongst the several flavours they have, I really liked olive oil and honey&lavender

Gnat Brain

Funky rotating flavors that has a cult following in PDX and attracts out-of-towners from around the universe .

TeamCC

Always go for samples even if you know what you want - you might find a new fav

Al B.

Lavender and olive oil . Try it!

Kristy

Rose city riot (with pistachios ) is amazing ????

Bruno Zalum

There's life before that beer glazed bacon ice cream , and then there's no life afterwards.

mary pinson

go during the day when there's no line so you can take your time and taste all the flavors freely.

Kenneth Ortiz

Almost everything. An explosion of flavor! Must try.

Rohan Dsouza

The line moves super fast and is totally worth the wait

Ulysses .

June flavors pretty good, esp. the mushroom one. But they’re trying a little too hard with the wacky combinations, to the point where you can’t distinguish what’s what. Also, music is way too loud .

S T

Pro tip: you can grab a carton from the freezer and walk to the front of the line .

Mike Donovan Hausler

Get in line . It moves way faster than you think. And, yeah, worth the wait.

Max Blue ????????

Bourbon Whiskey and Stumptown Coldbrew are the best options here

Tania

Take Lavender ! It's not too sweet and so delicious????????

C Mong

Always try all the flavors of the month. You can’t go wrong though best ice cream around.
