Along with impressive mammals like tigers, orangutans, and the native Mangalica pig , Europe’s largest flamingo flock also lives here, as do myriad reptiles, amphibians, and interesting insects.

Very nice zoo at the edge of the city accessable by metro.It´s located in the park where is nice castle , public bath & smalll lakes.Animals are quite free here and all the expositions are interesting.

Really great place to spend the whole day. The only thing is that all cafes accept only cash and there is no any cash machine inside the zoo . We have no any cash. After 5 hours we became wild hungry!

I was there for the second time, and still that was great. Lots of animals and incredible beauty of nature. However, part of spots were closed due to COVID times.

Wonderful place, plenty of animal species, very clean and I had enjoyable time. I recommend it as a must see when visiting Budapest.

The cages seem somewhat tiny at times, but overall nice place. You can see many animals from up close. Make sure to take cash, as cafes don’t accept card payments.

Budapest zoo is an experience! Give it a try! The ticket is very cheap and you can see lots of animals !

very heart breaking place to visit. i am very sorry for the polar bear amd other animals, polar bear was so lonely and has very small place to live , was looking so sad.my 5yo daughter feels the same

Huge zoo with enclosures that contain impressive themed architecture . The elephant enclosure is particularly impressive.

I've never understood how is this possible, that much smaller towns in Hungary like Nyíregyháza, Veszprém have way better zoos . But the night walks during some summer occasions are really informative.

Cart for 2-3 kids. (10k HUF deposit). Nice range of animals. It will take at least 4 hours to see everything. Indoors open at 10:00.

Went to Zoo today had a grt time baby elephant beautiful spent 4 hrs there had a grt time very good Zoo 100per cent better than Edinburgh Zoo . Well worth visiting.

Beautiful zoo for a very good price. If you're near Heroes Square then stop by and take a look at the koalas.

Great place for a family outing , art nouveau elephant house, beautiful walkways, Gundel restaurant inside. Frequent animal shows, petting zoo ! Kid's friendly .

Lots of animals , but this zoo cannot be compared with Lisbon one, where you can walk really near any kind of beast if prey

The higlights where the kangaroos with the baby kangaroos in their belly pockets and the giraffes. The restaurant at the entrance (cave restaurant ) was disappointing. Other than that, a nice zoo .

Last time i have been here more than 15 years ago..nothing changed..was amazing and became just ok. Dirty and busy place, but nowhere else to go in that city if you are traveling with a kid ????

Loved the vulture's enclosure . You can literally walk among the birds.

Numerous animals in tiny enclosures . Animals showing clear signs of distress, pacing back and forth continually. Nothing to stop morons banging on the glass and distressing them even more. Disgusting

Worst zoo I have ever visited. More than half of the spaces for animals are empty, the animals live in dirty cages. There is a lot of trash everywhere left by the visitors. Never ever again.
