Wintzell's Oyster House

The oysters are great and the menu is lengthy. Service is always good and the prices aren't bad for downtown area.

Kiyana did an awesome job taking care of us. After hearing we were from Missouri, she took Southern Hospitality to a new level comping us bread pudding and sweet tea !

Bacon wrapped shrimp with jalepenos , sweet tator fries , Oliver's lemonade , strawberry shortcake with ice cream !

Also, just happened to be facing the kitchen and watched as a waitress dropped fries on the floor and put them back on the plate. Served them up to the table next to me.

Went with a large group. We had reservations for the group. Only had one server. It took about an hour in a half to get our food. The food was good however service was frustrating.

Start with the Gumbo , and end with the Bread Pudding . Trust me.

Some of the best gumbo I've had. And the oysters (raw, grilled and fried) were terrific.

Happy hour appetizers are the way to go

Fish taco's at lunch aren't bad, but don't expect huge strips of fish . All in all, filling, and flavorful.

I love my food every time but this time was a no. My fries were cold, then they came back burnt, but the fish was good. The greens tasted like hot water

Fried pickles are great. Cheese grits need way more cheese , butter and cream.

Raw oysters were fantastic. Service is excellent.

Ordered the catch of the day. Anemic Talapia filet, side of broccoli was four small pieces. At least they had decent tea ?

Try the mold tuna dip . It's great. Their happy hour is awesome!!

The crab soup is the biz-naz. You have to try it.

Waitress seemed agitated & was slow (restaurant was not crowded ), food was slow (food was 5 out of 10), will not go here anymore.

Don't order the crab cake BLT unless you like soggy tiny pieces of bread , salty bacon , over salted bland crapcakes, expired vegetables and frozen French fries .

Won't be back here. Hair in two different dinner plates. First and final experience here.
