Víte, že zde původně měl stát pomník spisovatele Jaroslava Haška? Devět let tu čněl osiřelý základní kámen, který byl alespoň po několika letech symbolicky ozdobený prázdným pivním půllitrem.
K prvnímu osídlení místa , kde se dnes Olšanské náměstí rozprostírá, došlo dle dochovaných historických pramenů v roce 1919. Náměstí se však nejmenovalo Olšanské, ale neslo název Radešínovo náměstí
