The Northern Hiking Loop in the Chestnut Nature Park crisscrosses natural fresh water streams as it loops through the rainforest.
Keep a look out for the water crossing on the Northern Hiking Loop. It shouldn't be flooded unless there has been a high volume of rainfall recently.
There is a fallen log south of Cyathea Hut that is intended for hikers to walk on.
NParks has posted numerous signs and set up anti-bike barriers to indicate to all but the most reculcitrant cyclists that the hiking trails are not for bikes .
