Is Caputo's lard bread so-called because it's made with lard? Or because it's 'larded' with prosciutto , provolone and black pepper ? Something to think about as you eat the entire loaf on the way home.
The bread is baked fresh each day and is so delicious! At $2 for a medium loaf of semolina bread (and $1.50 for a small loaf) there is no reason to buy overpriced grocery store bread . Big selection!
Hit the glass-countered baked goods trove for cupcakes and cannoli of-the-day or call ahead for custom bread orders, ganache-topped cakes , and special event desserts .
Cute pastry shop with very friendly staff . Crumb cake was fantastic and their apple strudel was massive and delicious
There's the Italian loaf, and the old fashioned Italian loaf. The regular one is good, the old fashioned is amazing.

I agree with everyone else: lard bread . terrible name but sooo good. laced with prosciutto and is a beautiful tear-away loaf. eat it warm!
The place needs a spiffing up - but their breads are very good.
Fantastic & cheap breads
Great breads , hilariously cheap .
At $1.77 it is perhaps the best deal for a large iced coffee in the city . Great bread/baked goods too, of course.
Slightly better bread selection than Mazzola
Extremely cheap and extremely delicious.
