Free English tours at the East Gate at 1pm! Our guide was a lovely Japanese grandma who told us more about Japanese castles and palaces than we'd learned during the whole 3-week trip around Japan. <3
If you're heading here and coming from the closest station, turn left towards the fountain , instead of right. The entrance is closer this way.
The restored palace is nice, but be sure to go see the exhibit in the castle tower to see it with some furniture . It's kind of strange missing that context.
Lucky to have visited the castle during sakura season. The grounds & surroundings were a dreamy shade of pink. Lots of people, locals & tourists , out & about enjoying the blooms
Incredible place to see and visit. Not to be missed! Take the time to get transported back in time...
Nagoya Castle is beautiful - a remnant of the great Japanese architecture that once filled the city .
The castle is currently closed for reconstruction. You can view the outside or visit the lovely Honmaru palace within the castle grounds
Nice castle to visit. Reasonable fee to enter, there is a museum inside. Good view from the top floor.
English-speaking volunteer guides are available to show you around. Friendly and knowledgeable - a real treasure!
Te gift shop at the entrance is better than the one that's inside the castle .
Truly incredible to see, even if you only view the exterior.
There are local volunteers who provide free guidance in English. This is no scam and improves your appreciation of the castle and its history
At this angle next to the sign, the grand castle looks like a miniature version ????
Some beautiful bits in autumn but a lot of places are off limits because of renovation
There are guys who dress up as ninjas or samurai giving small performances on the castle grounds
They are rebuilding the palace at the castle grounds , it's not finished yet, but you can already go in to have a look, really recommended
Looks great from afar but boring within unless you are really into the history of it. Better off getting a room with a view at the Westin and enjoying it.
Make sure to join the free card game and tea ceremony. It was fun! :)
It’s under renovation, so you can’t go in. There is another house that you could go in but you can only go in after watching a video.
Beautiful! You could spend many hours here.
A good spot during the cherry blossom season
Great place. Don´t forget to visit the woodworks factory .
The third floor has a nice golden dolphin where you can take nice pictures.
Don't miss the wall of Nobunaga.
Love this winter view with snowing.
A most! You can take the elevator or the stairs! The view on the last floor is amazing!!
Majestic! Do you know the golden animals on the roof top are supposed to be dolphins?! Lol
get ¥100 off entrance fee when you show them your Mēguru day pass :)
Beautiful! And it glows green at night!
not so far from train station and beautiful
Cherry Blossom #hana #sakura #Nagoya #Japan
Cultural. Nice place to visit. 500 yen for adult foreigners as entrance fee . They do provide services to explain about the details through the whole visit in English. Beautiful gardens too.
Love this historical place!

Must visit, one of the nicest in Japan. Wonderful place... - S P
- Nao
Massara Nati …
