So big place for visit. It’s really take half a day to walk around and to see almost everything

Amazing place! I found it even more amazing than Rome! Dont miss it (and you may also enjoy the beach , 2 train stops from here).

Incredible how much has survived. A must-see on any trip to Rome! Don't waste too much time on the first few buildings you come to - there's so much here you'll run out of time!

Ostia Antica is a large archeological site that was the location of the harbour city of ancient Rome, which is approximately 30 km to the southeast. "Ostia" in Latin means "mouth".

Ostia may have been Rome's first colonia. With the end of the Roman Empire, Ostia fell slowly into decay, and was finally abandoned in the 9th centuary.

The stone paths look cool but walk at the side on the ground paths when you can. Your feet, legs and hips will thank you.

Must visit. Especially the remote areas covered by plants. They hide many secrets.

Beautiful and serene walk-in museum . Better than the tourist filled roman forum.

Ostia Antica is a really interesting archeological site that is similar to Pompeii but is much closer to Rome and also doesn't have the large crowds.

Usciti dalla stazione "Ostia Antica", superato il cavalcavia, al "nasone" (fontanella in romanesco) attraversare la strada e andare sempre dritti per gli scavi anziché girare a destra

non so quante volte ci sono andato da bambino con le gite organizzate dalla scuola, ma è sempre un posto magico da visitare.

Qui trovate i resti perfettamente conservati dell'antica città portuale di epoca imperiale. Anfiteatri , strade lastricate e pini marittimi.

assolutamente da visitare! peccato lo stato di trascuratezza e abbandono.

Een mooie plek, maar wel een stuk minder mooi dan Pompei. Ga hier alleen naar toe als Pompei te ver is.
