Don't forget to visit the Trip to Jerusalem pub which is set against the walls of the castle but is only a short walk from the castle .
Those pounds are worth it. Really huge museum with lots of exposures. Interesting stuff about Hood legends. Park around is pretty nice and sound...
Now closed until 2020 for renovation work. The locals have made comments about the plans.
Castle is just a fancy name for a typical XIX century mansion with medieval gates. Nice garden though
The view . You can see forever on a clear day , even as far as Beacon Hill and Charnwood Forest .
Slightly underwhelming. But the Robin Hood pageant is held in October, which is a good laugh and an opportunity to watch some tacky but entertaining live jousting.
In 1212, King John hanged 28 Welsh boy hostages from the castle walls. It is said that in the castle precincts you can still hear the pitiful sound of their ghostly pleas for mercy.
Amazing View , nice place to visit. Loads to see. :)
The cafe food was excellent, with views over Nottingham.
Perhaps the most interesting is not the Castle itself, but the "Trip to Jerusalem Pub " Old, dusty an unique for a beer or two. Really a must of the Castle .

Beautiful views and gardens
It's ok. Used to be free entry during the week but now has a fee. Bit really worth it though.
Not really a castle , more like a museum of ild furniture .
This is niether a castle nor very robin hood themed, nice grounds though, but I feel the price to get in isn't really worth it.
Not a castle , it is worth a visit only if you have kids and plenty of time to kill!
No need to visit until they revisit the design
I saw it from outside and it looks nice but you don't know what is inside

What a brilliant place. Gorgeous hall, although the many rooms of taxidermy weren't to one of my small daughters taste. Fascinating for the rest of us! Lovely grounds, great for a picnic. Has cafe. - Andrea
