Saint Mark's Square

Great architecture ! And live music in cafes in the evening! One of the most crowded places in Venice, better to see in early morning or late evening, gives the feeling of something extremely big!

The must go to area for tourists . It is surrounded by incredibly impressive architecture though. A huge plaza with great views . There are cafes along here too. Just watch for the inflated prices.

Go first thing in the morning, for the sunrise if you can wake up early enough but before 8am at the latest, to experience this stunning piazza for all its worth without thousands of other tourists !

Beautiful Square next to St. Mark’s Basilica . Can get crowded but we were lucky with light crowds today. Several museums close by as well as numerous restaurants and high end shops.

Absolutely stunning views if you arrive when hoards of crowds have not come. Fully packed with people on any given sunny day :). Best chance early or very late in the day or in winters, maybe.

One of the best places to visit, Unique but crowdy. I didn't like the people selling flowers or other ...., really pushy and annoying. Walking a few hours with your soulmate is the best time ever.

One of the most beautiful places in Europe but always very crowded . So enjoying this place is hard because of the masses and the pigeons :) but try to relax and try to enjoy on a sunny day ????

The Basilica San Marco is a must see. Go early to miss the crowds. Only disappointment is all the guys trying to sell you junk, it gets annoying. Also a great location to get a gondola from

Greats views from the top of The Campanile " in Piazza San Marco (€8). The Cathedral of San Marco its a beautiful place to walk around. Don't miss this places. At noon you'll go for a coffee or gelato .

One of the most spectacular places to BE, a must-visit and a once-in-a-lifetime experience where everyone is in awe. Having a cup of coffee at Florian is just a must, no matter what.

Must-do at night!! You can buy basilica tickets online to avoid the long queue. And the tower for a small price is worth the stunning panoramic views !

Is there a better square in the world? Enjoy piazza San Marco's unique atmosphere especially at night. And don't forget to have a look at the nearby Ponte Dei Sospiri!

Great area for people watching . I try to guess what language people are speaking (but I don't ask them to see if I'm correct, I just assume I am).

It is much less crowded on winter. If you would like to take your time and look at every detail of the San Marco, it is the perfect time for you.

Very nice ???????? square has a lot of cafes and restaurants and the atmosphere is very good I enjoyed it a lot and to our advantage the weather was very good not hot nor humid

Loved this place. If youre not scared of birds, buy some seeds in the middle of the square to feed them, theyll go crazy! Bring good shoes , you do a lot of walking. You MUST go on a gondola ride!

Cramped and crazy. Go back at night when it's more calm and sit on the floor outside one of the places that play music ! U pay to sit at table but free if you are across the way just admiring it

Perfect place to spend an evening.. Don't forget to spend some time here in the night too.. Use Rick Steve's audio guides, they helped me notice things I wouldn't have noticed otherwise..

The landmark attraction in Venice. Plenty of things to see, as well as of tourists and crap sellers getting in your way.

Nice terraces but outrageously overpriced, even for overpriced places :) Like 11eur an espresso and 20eur a cocktail . Don't regret it though, the live music is and view is worth it!

A beautyfull place and very romantic . I loved it so much. I had a great time. So much to see. You need to see the small streets behind the tourist area.

Amazing architecture but super crowdy especially during the carnival . Otherwise lot of space and great view . Pricey bars/restaurants.

The place to be in Venezia. All shops and restaurants extend from this square. Make sure to have some fun with the pigeons while you're there!

The queue to the top of the bell tower is very long, across the canal there is another basilica St Maggio with a bell tower and an elevator to the top...views just as amazing!

Ignore the crowds&admire the amazing architecture .If you love history you'll see the bronze Byzantine horses that Venetians stole from Constantinople.Respect yourself and avoid all the cafés there.

Don't forget to visit the Basilica di San Marco. But you have to PAY EXTRA tickets for the balcony , the remains of San Marco, the campanile and the treasure. Italians know how to make the most of it.”

James Bond pays a few visits to the Piazza San Marco in Moonraker (1979). Firstly when investigating the Venini glass works, then again later via hovercraft gondola!

If you want to visit anything on the piazza like the church or the campanile , do so before 3pm after wise It is closed. Don't hesitate to queue, it goes faster than it looks.

It is beautiful and much quieter at night. Plus with three caffé playing live music , it is truly lovely.

The square has an interesting architecture . Correr museum gives a very good overview of the Square!

Spectacular view , a good place for taking panoramic photos. But beware of your surroundings, ignore the people selling stuffs or giving you food for feeding the pigeons .

Beautiful square but only very early morning when there is almost no people around. Later in the day it’s filled with tourists and you can hardly see it.

The cafés are lovely , the live music just adds something special to the whole experience ❤️

Visited PSM while on a tour in December where crowds were not a factor; try Caffe Florian for authentic gourmet coffee , teas and food ????
