Typical American diner and the best 24 hour restaurant in SF. I've only ever been between 2am and 8am. It's awesome people watching and good food. Also, old school SF. ;)
It's the only 24-hour diner in the Castro, and they do a pretty decent burger , as well as breakfast all night long. Also, Playboy once named it among the Top 10 Late-Night Diners in the country . Read more
Chocolate chip pancakes are good. The secret to making the pancakes great: BYO real maple syrup .
Great 24 hour coffee shop/diner in the heart of the Castro. It gets packed late at night, but it's worth the wait for the pancakes .
Breakfast for dinner is a must unless you must have a Patty Melt … just DO NOT MISS the amazing Hawaiian Wedding Cake ! Thank me later!
Tthis Castro mainstay is where to go for a griddle-greasy patty melt or a chicken fried steak after dancing all night at Badlands or Beaux. Read more
Thee best place for a late night burger in SF.
This is where you go after the party when you're drunk & starving. ...or if you want to have the BEST TUNA MELT EVER. Tip your waiter , drunky.
Wonderful little hole in the wall diner -- great for a late night bite! Fast service , good food, AND they have the sweetest wait staff !
I love this place. Sassy service, open 24h, standard solid American diner fare. Don't be a schmuck like my friend and order anything not 'breakfasty'.
Mmm. Sloppy Joe 's after playing was great! We got there at about 1am so we beat the line .
Never had bad food here. I enjoy the omelettes in particular, and they're available all day.
Classic diner with enormous portions . I loved my Monte Cristo .
Orphan Andy’s is a late night favorite among San Francisco late-nighters. Between their chicken fried steak and the chocolate chip banana pancakes , you can’t go wrong. Read more
Sit at the bar and watch the magic happens Nate flashes you a smile and your food in no time flat. I'd come just for him if the food weren't just as great. Come hungry.
Great omelette
not always the best food, but the environment is a hoot, and it's worth a visit at least once to take in the view of the Castro, if you sit at one of the two front booths , or just talk it up with one Read more
love it for being an ICON of the castro, the food is always the same ,and the staff is a HOOT i love them
In a city seriously lacking late night options , Ophan Andy's is essential.
simply an sf institution. don’t expect quick service or amazing food. just come at 3am, shut up, and sink in
If you're visiting, I guess it's recommended you visit here once. But I'd recommend just huffing it a few blocks to Sparky's for your late night diner-ing.
I haven't been here in a while, but I always enjoy myself here. It's great that it's open 24 hours ; outside of some chain restaurants , you don't find anything like that in San Francisco.
The chicken and cakes are the stuff of legend. Split with a buddy, though. The portion is massive! Nothin' wrong with that.
Amazing food and amazing wifi ! Open 24 hours :)
Great breakfast ! Michael is SUCH a sweetheart and his hospitality was so appreciated... We will be back!
Counter seating means great serendipitous meetings. At 2am everything tastes great.
Try the Coconut Cake - I'm dead now this is so good. DEAD I TELL YOU (via @Foodspotting)
breakfast food all day. love the kitschy atmosphere too.
Tried so hard to like the place. The history. Open all night. Fun staff . But... The food quality is just garbage. Food quality in SF can be so high (both expensive and divey!). OA is not good enough
Good late night food in the Castro. Very fast and good service .
A great diner in the heart of the Castro that is always open
Don't stray too far from pancakes . Go just before the bars let out.
I always come here for the pancakes . I don't know how they make them but they're magical. The best pancakes in SF
Great food, drunk or not. Two best things: biscuits & gravy and Shane!
Breakfast served all day! Tasty orange juice , fresh-squeezed and full of pulp.
Breakfast ! 24/7. Banana and chocolate pancakes are great.
Bring pepper spray. If the meth-y waiter is having a bad day he might threaten you with silverware.
I love this place. Great place to end a long night or randomly meet people at the bar at breakfast/brunch time.
Great spot to grab some breakfast , at any time!
We love a classic diner . 24/7! Yes please.
The best food I have had in SF so far and the staff is very friendly and welcoming
country-fried steak made to perfection! ????
extremely friendly host and very long menu
STRICT recommendation: Try the BBQ Pork Omelette . You WON'T be disappointed. ;-)
A Homobiles favorite! Call or text us for a ride to Orphan Andy's or home after a stack of pancakes 415-574-5023
Lovely omelette !
Loved the 7AM drug induced nod-off's snoring in front of their chicken-fried steaks . Reminded me of Greg Allman & Cher! Hahaha....
Really like the vibe and the food is good too :)
Good food, quick service , and for a good price...the trifecta of winning!!
Mmm! Everything is amazing and the food is great! They always have fresh flowers in the vases too.
