Very lively and popular area in Amsterdam. Lots of shops, restaurants and other attractions . Really nice buildings and atmosphere. Very touristy area, so is usually quite crowded .

A great place to stand and take in Amsterdam. Love the cobblestone streets. Chill right here. The bulldog cafe is located in the square as well .

Great place to just people watch . The vibe and excitement is palpable. Also, if with kids, the pigeons make for quite the entertainment as does the puppet show.

Of you're agoraphobic be prepared to see some serious crowded place. Nice shops to buy souvenirs though. Also nice place to have a coffee and watch people passing by.

Some of the nicest buildings (visit the palace ) but infested by the same lame street performers as in any other city of the world.

You must try FEBO near Dam Square. It's not crowded everytime and it's very delicious. Eat by your coins.
