This is such a great hotel to stay, eat or party.. The survivors of the Titanic stayed here, Coco Rocha was here yesterday, there is a stuffed monkey behind the front desk.. What more can you ask for?

Yes the rooms a tiny but still the atmosphere is so worth it! The bathrooms are clean and most people living here are friendly when you meet them in the corridor!

Pro tip: there are a few rooms in the mix situated on a diagonal wall which takes a chunk out of the foot end of the bed. If you get one of these ask to switch. You'll be able roll over a lot easier!

Once the American Seaman's Institute, it later housed Titanic survivors during the inquisition. It is now a whimsical spot that harkens back to the days of passenger liners and seafaring voyages.

Quirky but super cool hotel in the West Village . Choose a Captains Cabin and be warned the lobby bar is a hipster club at weekends but you don't get disturbed in the rooms.

Nice, modestly priced hotel . The Captain's suite is a smartly decorated room with a spacious bathroom . AC didn't work very well . Don't miss the roof terrace !

If on a budget it is great. But phone reception is rubbish, although there is free wi-fi. Staff dressed like they work on Disney's Tower of Terror ride. Makes it fun.

Pretty cool place, great location. Clean and has a lot of character. If you need a later check-out time, they'll try to accommodate you - they let us have until 1pm to check-out.

If you're in NYC on a budget, the Jane is for you. The rooms are tiny but clean and adequate. Shared bathrooms but they're actually nice. Staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful.

Came in on red eye and they let us check in at 7 am and the subsequent power nap saved the day. Additionally, room was super cool and staff was really nice.

was fantastic when it was hard to get into-now crowded with banker-types (and the little girls who love them) who don't understand that the dj is being ironic. Every club must fade-sigh ...

Electric fireplace makes this a fun winter spot. Don't miss the upstairs bar , with a fab view of the main downstairs space.

BEAUTIFUL bar / not sure what it's like later in the evening but early it's great.

You might mistake the comfy couches and grand fireplace for living room props until you see well-dressed guests dancing atop the coffee tables and armchairs

You don't need to leave. Live there, eat at Gitane and go clubbing in the weekends. Fridays better than saturdays.

Great spot for dancing and drinks. Huge plus is that they let you dance on the couches !!

Wouldn’t recommend. Very basic facilities & service is extremely limited; more bothered about the ‘trendy ’ guests in the lobby than those paying for rooms. Rooms basic (like a haunted house).

Saturday night's oldies and current music fusion DJ list will make you want to dance until your feet go numb!

Nice and comfortable hotel for the price except that is VERY loud . You can hear everything going on outside. The windows need to be soundproofed ASAP.

Unique Boutique Hotel . Reminicent of Pullman cars w/sleeping berths. Small but comfortable .

Beautiful historic hotel with friendly , helpful staff and clean rooms . Cafe Gitane has an authentic French feel, but is overpriced. Absolutely love this place!

When you walk in head all the way to the right to get to the hidden cocktail bar . Grabs drink with a friend or two in the intimate setting . 60 person capacity space.

My favourite budget stopover in NYC. Even if you don't stop, drop by the ballroom for drinks on a night out.

Try the Milano Green Vodka martini ???? and you'll be dancing on tables in no time

Sewer system went nuts . Piss and shit all over the floor. Did not make for an enjoyable ending to my night but the bartenders were all cool and I made due. Would go back when I can walk around freely

Robert at the check-in desk is funny & always has a smile. Ask for an extra blanket in winter. Rooms can get cold at night.
