Reservations are a must at our favorite Mario Batali restaurant . Once you get a table have the Tripe “Alla Parmigiana ”, Beef Cheek Ravioli and then ‘Brasato Al Barolo.”

Deb

I had the Goat Cheese Tortelloni with Dried Orange and Wild Fennel Pollen. It was AMAZING!!!!! Definitely going back for more!!

Alice Eunjin

It seems like beef cheek ravioli is a popular dish here, but I liked the tagliatelle a lot better. Also loved the tripe dish as well as the lamb tongue appetizer . Yum

Antonio Calderon

The pasta tasting menu was excellent. For a wine or bubbly, ask the sommelier and she will help you make an excellent selection. The service was great!!! If you are in NYC, you must go to Babbo.

Rahim Hashim

A staple of the city , one of the best meals you can have in nyc. Hard to choose what is best, but don’t miss the octopus and lamb tongue appetizers , as well as the fish main dish. A+

Karla Donjuan

Garganelli with ???? marry me! There are 2 tasting menus , one with all pasta ???? that has been offered for 20 years and an Italian traditional one just recently added. You must book ahead. WORTH 100%

Lori Luo

Batali and Bastianich's flagship Italian restaurant still commands one of the busiest dining rooms in the city . Reservations are a must, but worth it for the Beef Cheek Ravioli and Roasted Duck .

Fatou Bah

Incredibly cozy . Follow their Twitter to get last minute reservations . Incredible Italian food & awesome pumpkin dessert . Perfect intimate dinner location.

Emilie Futterman

Great for a traditional Italian meal . Burrata is heavenly. Pasta can be overcooked. The upstairs area has great light, ask for a table there.

Nini Yi

Fresh sardines, grilled octupus, sardine salad , mint love letters , gnocchi w/ braised oxtail , pasta w/ fresh black truffle & parmigiano, grilled quail , chocolatr hazelnut cake , saffron panna cotta

Jane Katz

ask the waiters for wine recos. Got a great red for $80 (the wine here is $$). Avoid the squab (super rare and gamey) but go for the beef cheek ravioli . Duck is tasty but pork chop is the real star

Vicki Jeehee Kim

Everything is great. But when in doubt, go with the tasting menu .

Epicurious

Former American presidents seated at table 3? Check. Beef cheek ravioli with crushed squab liver and black truffles served at table 6? Check. Such is a typical night at Babbo! Read more

The tripe is unreal, better than they make it in Italy (spicy though for most people, so make sure you got some beer on the side). Goose liver ravioli is also a must

Red & Brown

Batali's OG flagship continues to be great for special occasions . You can ask your server to portion and course out shared dishes and even recommend pairings for each.

Gus Borrmann

The best restaurant in NYC. Period. You can order anything and prepare yourself to be amazed. My fave: beef cheek ravioli .

"Tough to get a spot, but you can occasionally grab a seat at the bar without a reservation and enjoy a bowl of chianti-stained pappardelle with wild boar ragu or fennel-dusted sweetbreads ." Read more

Some of the best Italian in NYC, well deserving of its Michelin Star . The goat cheese ravioli , bucatini and the fettuccine were phenomenal. The bucatini is a must get!

Jane Dong

Black spaghetti with shrimp is my favorite. Not a fan of the beef cheek ravioli , but that's probably because I don't like the liver taste if the sauce. Olive oil cake was perfect.

Julie Soscia

Great Italian menu , make sure to ask for a sommelier for the perfect wine pairings and make a reservation in advance. Try the Squid Ink Pasta dish.

Amber Nagle

Restaurant played nirvana, the Beatles, foo fighters and the XX to enjoy while eating their gourmet 7 course pasta tasting menu , each paired with wine . Heaven.

Ariana Voyer

Beef carpaccio and Octopus to start, beef cheek ravioli and sweetbreads for the entree. All incredible!

Thomas Knüwer

Mario Batali 's home ground is better than most fine diningroom restaurants I've been to in Italy - and this is written by a German...

Ashley ????

Was looking forward to eating here... Service was great, food was ok, loved the music ! Scarpetta 's is far superior tho, go there! (Pictured is the mint love letters ... Nothing too spectacular)

Gothamist

If you choose to dine a la carte, try the spaghettini served with a one pound lobster ($28) or spring for the massive bowl of deconstructed osso bucco for two ($75). Read more

Spaghetti with white truffles ????????, Pappardelle with bolognese ????& Toasted coconut cheese cake ????????????????

Ricky Sherrill

The Tasting Menu is my move and it never disappoints. Another good move is to go for lunch . Same menu and a great place for business meetings .

Harumi U

I don't necessarily think all Mario Batali 's restaurants serve the best food but you cannot go wrong with this location. Definitely try beef cheek ravioli though

JenKudu

Chianti stained papparadelle with boar Ragu is some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. The pork chop is incredible!

Bergdorf Goodman

It's a BG New York City secret! Designer Monique Lhuillier likes trying one new thing during each of her NYC trips, but this restaurant is a long time favorite.

Bravo

One of my favorite bar eating places. Mario’s food is just so good I still taste it a month afterwards. And he is a very funny guy. -Thierry Rautureau, Top Chef

Lee Hoffman

Incredible meal. The porterhouse for 2 and ravioli cacio Pepe were incredible

Ronald Cattrysse

This is a great Italian, the more traditional setting adds to the experience. Would recommend the sea bass and the steak .

Lisa W

The food was amazing but the staff , especially the ones to check you in and take your coats, are not that friendly . They seem to think that if the food is amazing the service can come second.

Michelle Wiles

Pasta tasting menu is the best way to get the most of Babbo

April M

Must try 「Pappardelle with White Truffles and Parmigiano」, the pasta itself is outstanding with or without white truffle !

Pastas were incredible. Place is small and can feel a bit overpacked. If you want a great Batali experience, don't miss it

DoubleDeuce

Miles out of my price range. It was damn good. Fancy dining, fancy people. Best in the area, if cost isn't a big deal for you.

miles lennon

The bucatini was outstanding as was the oxtail gnocchi . But don't leave without trying the head cheese . Don't ask just consume :)

Erica Santiago

The truffle tasting menu is out of this world! Expensive but so worth it.

Julie Soscia

Great Italian menu , make sure to ask for a sommelier for the perfect wine pairings and make a reservation in advance.

Ada Chiu

Rabbit mushroom ragu was a standout - so good! Upstairs seating is a bit more spacious than downstairs

Tiffany Shinn

Simply a divine dinning experience. Pig Foot "Milanese," Beef Cheek Ravioli , Goose Liver Ravioli and sooooo much more. Why I love Babbo and why all men should be like Batali: http://wp.me/p1IEAz-1

B Chu

Grilled Octopus (antipasti ) and Semifreddo (dolci) are musts. DO NOT order Black Spaghetti , but people rave about the pastas (can try their $80 pasta tasting menu ). Very packed so expect noisy meal

Jeffrey Perren

Wow ... the service was impeccable, and the food (especially the desserts ) was well prepared and presented ... great neighborhood feel and ambiance ...

Erika Siqueira de Castro Neves

Love it! The white truffle menu at truffle season is super!!!!

Nicole

Follow them on Twitter to see reservation cancellations. They usually put how many they can seat at a table and for what time then encourage walk-ins at the bar .
