The Above and Beyond exhibition is pretty good. Lots for the kids to learn and interact with.
Nitty Gritty Super City is fantastic for children, and parents get a break too.
Buy yourself a Museum Victoria membership to avoid the queues and come as many times as you like!

Planetarium is great but isn't free. Worth it, though.

House Secrets exhibition downstairs lets you get up close to your furniture . Interesting for kids.

Great fun for primary school age kids or younger. Adults won't learn anything useful though.

Dinosaurs are not life size; e.g. T-Rex is about half size.
Cafe is quite small & doesn't really have cooked food. Only sandwiches , pies , chips & stuff. At least the coffee is decent.
