Our tour guide named Craig was very enthusiastic and clearly loved his job and really related to the children on the tour to get them to relate to life without technology
I love history so this was awesome! Jane (I believe) was our tour guide and she was very informative and easy going. She answered all my side questions (I'm that guy), she was great.
This was the home of 19th-century author Samuel Langhorne Clemens , better known as Mark Twain. The Missouri-born Clemens moved with his wife Olivia into this 19-room Victorian Gothic home in 1874.
If your in history and his writings. This house and tour is great. This is the house he spent most of his time in. It was a great understanding of his life and children. The gift shop was cool.
Best tour in the city ! Great house and amazing history! This is a must... save some money for the fantastic gift shop . It's an awesome experience. Put it on your list to see!
Did the combo tour and would say it was well worth it! Can't believe people would live in such extravagance, especially when one comes from such humble beginnings as Mark Twain. Beautiful house !
Be sure to sign up for the e-newsletter and/or follow them on Facebook for announcements about free events . Lots of great lectures, author visits, films , and more.
Take the ghost story tour at night with Ross (I believe is his name) he's extremely informative and makes the tour a lot of fun. Good place to visit if you live in CT.
Nicely restored. Do the guided tour for sure. Amazing history and architecture . Must see!
Beautiful home. Amazing being in the very house and very room where Sam Clemens wrote Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn
These famous authors were next door neighbours and great friends. Their beautiful Victorian houses are now museums and a guided tour is a must-do while in Connecticut.
The Mark Twain House is a great place to visit, especially in thet winter with the holiday decorations. When available, go on their ghost tour . TAPS was there 2 times.
The tour was very interesting and had a lot of fine points about family life and Mark Twain's history
Skip the Servants ' Wing tour . You get to see half of it on the regular tour anyway, and the "wing" is really two full rooms only. You've seen one Victorian stove, you've seen 'em all.
Do the combo tour and see both the Stowe house and the Twain house. The difference between the two is staggering.
The tour of the home is amazing. And the museum exhibits are first class !
You can't take pictures inside, but there is a book in the shop with wonderful photos. The house is beautiful!
A bit pricey ($19) but very informative and the house itself is beautiful.

Don't bother with the servants tour , you just see the kitchen
Staff at the information desk were rude. We got here two hours before closing, and all tours were sold out. Not one member cared that we were out from CA and would not have another chance to visit.
Well worth it! The house is beautiful.
